These are some of the prettiest infernalis I've ever worked with.

This girl will be bred this year and expect her to produce albino flames, albinos and flames.

Scott F
01-31-2009, 08:40 AM
This female was found by Jeff Mohr and is a beauty ! She was bred last year to both a flame and albino eastern. Expect her to have anerythristic and flame 100% anerythristic babies this year.

Scott F
01-31-2009, 08:43 AM
This female will be bred to a silver eastern garter this year. Anerythristics will be the key trait for producing new unique designer morphs.

.

Scott F
01-31-2009, 08:52 AM
The first red plains and the hypo will be bred to a Nebraska albino, the last red plains will be bred to a double het Iowa albino x Nebraska albino plains. My hope with the red x Nebraska albino is to ultimately create a high reddish/yellow albino.

Scott F
01-31-2009, 08:55 AM
This female will be bred to anerythristic red sideds this year, creating double het for snows and these offspring will ultimately produce a second snow strain. (To my knowledge, snow red sideds have yet to be produced).

Scott F
01-31-2009, 08:59 AM
This albino strain will be bred to the golden red side, albinos, blue red side and normals this year.

.

Scott F
01-31-2009, 09:03 AM
This female was produced from the golden red sided being bred to an anerythristic red side. She will be bred to an albino-Kansas strain this year.

Acquired the hypermelanistic wandering from Don Belnap, they are voracious feeders. The axanthic Chicago's colors don't display the blue very well, the color washes out in the photo.

Scott, nice snakes. I've merged all your threads together. Other members on here generally bunch all their Garters together into one thread entitled 'Such-a-persons' Garters. It keeps a nice variety of topics on the portal page.:)

Scott, How the hell do you get females ready to breed in one year?I started stuffing my pinks and rats with reptomin to get some extra vitamins in thier system.I know it make turtles grow like weeds.

I love the Mohr anerythristic eastern! Very nice! So glad to have you here Scott!

Reed, what an impressive snake! I really don't understand our breeding regulations here. The regs against collecting more than 2, sure, but once they're collected why would it matter if they were bred? You'd think it would lessen the impact on the wild population...anyway... I'll quit whining now... at least temporarily :)

EdgyExoticReptiles

you can breed but you cant sell them

Can you give them away?

EdgyExoticReptiles

yea if i were to breed them tho i would take at least half and release them

Can you give them away?

If you can give them away, maybe your 'friends' would be willing to give something to you? Use your imagination!:D

Reed, I think this is what most people do, but it's not how I read the regs. It actually says no propagation and if there are resulting offspring I believe you're supposed to hand them over to fish and game(I'll have to read the pamphlet again). Again, I think it's totally silly... and I am morally fine with giving them away or selling them as long as native pops aren't over collected. In theory I really like the idea of releasing babies, too. There's a good amount of argument against that as well, tho :(

Hi Lori,

These infernalis are the bluest I've ever had. The blue phase come from only select locations in CA, most crs's have varying amounts of red and blue within them.

Lori,

A purple garter (any snake purple for that matter) would be very cool.

Thankyou everyone for the kudos on the collection. A few females (minority) gain breeder size within their first year, most do not. Males generally are easy to get breeder size in their first year as well. Reed that infernalis is a beauty !

just ask my BOYFRIEND!!!!

I talk about garters to him so much that I swear even he has dreams about them. And he doesn't even own a snake!!!

We will be laying there before bed.. it's all quiet... hes almost asleep... and all the sudden I simply HAVE to tell him that one of my garters had their first shed since brumation... or they were breeding, or this one didn't eat her pinky!!!

He knows so much about snake morphs, genetics, and species now it's scary, considering when I first met him new years eve at my house two years ago, within 5 minutes I had drunkenly dragged him into my snakeroom and convinced him that I was a crazy cat lady in the making!! (remove cat and insert snakes here)

hahahaha my wife is always teasing me about being on here....she will ask what I am doing and will say it better not be "thamnophis"! "it's always thamnophis thamnophis thamnophis!!!!!!!" she hasn't had any snak dreams that I know of yet.....

aSnakeLovinBabe
02-01-2009, 09:41 PM
I have dreams very often that I am herping on my (modified for dreamland of course) grandparents farm. Since I have such a vivid (and terrible) dreaming problem, I know the "imaginary" farm very intricately, make repeated trips back there on a weekly basis in my sleep, and I could tell you where to find a den of pink and green garters under a board by the porch, where to find an axanthic water snake in a huge pile of mud with like 100 water snake heads always sticking out of it, how to get to a hibernation den if you cross the bridge made of woven grass over the pond....and where the rattlesnake is that always prevents me from lifting the tire that the bluest garter snake I have ever seen hides out!!! I could draw the place!!!

ssssnakeluvr
02-01-2009, 09:47 PM
I have them a lot too...however the scenery in my dreams is never the same. I do go to ponds and rivers and places and find garters.....caught the wildest pair of all orange garters  night before last I was catching red siders....had one where I was driving around a lake and catching all different garters, some melanistics, florida blues....had both hands full of snakes!!!

aSnakeLovinBabe
02-01-2009, 10:29 PM
I regularly re-visit places, including the farm, a school, a hospital, and my house (in my dream we own a stone mansion with an airport on premisis though) my boyfriends house, and a few other places, the are always the same exact build, but I am usually doing something different each time.

ssssnakeluvr
02-01-2009, 10:51 PM
cool...I go to some places that seem familiar...may be close to somewhere I have been, but not exactly...... and , if I leave a room or area, I can't seem to go back, and if I can get back where I was, but it isn't the same as it was when I left it.....

:-)

I'll def take my place in line [be it in the back as it may] for one of those eventual infernalis offspring!
