How would one go about shipping a snake to someone else? Especially in the winter time?

I must agree. At this time of year, if you can't make the delivery in person in a cozy warm car, wait for better weather!:)

That's what I kinda figured. When it is warm enough, though, is there a particular service you prefer to use? Fedex? UPS? Heaven forbid the USPS?

Prefer FedEx:D

prefer fedex myself
and please make sure both parties are in contact and follow tracking, so possible mishaps can be caught immediately

I would definitely try to avoid shipping in the winter if at all possible. I'd hate for a snake to freeze in transit. Do you put air holes in the package? Mark it with labels that it's a live animal so they'll treat the package better?

shipping lives reptiles is illegal to do through usps and its against the rules through fedex and ups (unless you're certified to ship live reptiles) , so just put arrows pointing up, you should put a heat pack in the box but it shouldn't be touching the snake or the snakes container.

I have not used this service (yet), but have heard good things about it....they are certified to ship snakes/reptiles through FedEx and they give you a discount. You do have to buy shipping supplies from them to get the discount (specially marked boxes), but the supply prices look competitive and the shipping discount is great. Not to mention you don't have to be certified.

that link didn't work for me, yet I found the site and when I copy the link from their shipping page, it's the same, I think
http://www.reptster.com/connections/fedex/fedex_terms.php
if that was the same - here's the homepage - link to shipping on the right side of their page Reptster.com (http://www.reptster.com/connections/)
it looks good at first glance - need to look at the details

Wow that's cool. I'll have to remember to use that should I ever need to ship one. Thanks!
