Has anyone used it for snakes?

Years ago we used it in our koi pond, and I still use it for my fresh water fish.

After, a foster dog brought in cocidia and pin worms a friend told me to start giving it to my dogs. I give it to my cats, dogs and giunea pig. In two years I've never had any issues with internal parasites.

So, I'm curious on what your opinions on giving to snakes are?

Sounds very interesting. Will have to do some research. Did look it up briefly. Considering the fact that Garters ingest dirt while they are feeding I can't see (yet) where this would pose a health risk to them. If it works on parasites it would be a blessing. Chemically treating always has side effects. Doing no harm would be the best choice. Thanks for the interesting post.

I wonder whether this is the same kind of clay that I get from german apothecaries, called Heilerde (healing earth). it comes in different grades for external and internal use
I don't enjoy ingesting dirt, but that stuff really helps
never thought to give it to the critters though

Rhea, Could be the same stuff. I know here in the US it comes in different grades for animal use and human use. Example, The stuff I get for the fur kids is a higher grade than the stuff that is marketed for fish, you can also get even higher grade stuff for skin use and people.

LOL Steve "fur kids"=dogs, cats, GP ect. I've also added a small pinch to Simones water the last couple day's. You may be able to find "human" grade in your local health food store. I order mine from http://www.dogcookiebaker.com/ Her prices are reasonable and she's now selling it in 8 oz containers, I usually order 2-3 of the 4 lb containers LOL
