what is the largest/longest redbellied snake that anyone has ever seen?...because when i was in elementary school i was garter snake catching out by my garden under this tarp that covered a flat pile of top soil, and when i lifted it up, a snake rushed out and i saw it move past my feet and i noticed that it was almost all grey/white and i thought it was a redbelly because i always find them there, but it was about 16 or 18 inches long. Now i love studying redbellies and im aware that the record is upwards of about 13 inches but i was wondering if maybe someone else has seen one this big, or do you think it was maybe some sort of color morph of a garter snake...it still baffles me to this day, and i bite my tongue in not trying to grab it

Here's a mud snake I once found:

Unfortunately, he wasn't moving, and there was blood coming out of his mouth.

lol not quite a red belly but sweet nonetheless, that one must have been a female im guessing from how large it is, that thing is pretty big from the looks of it, too bad you found it dead or near-dead

just over a foot or so. i have found ringnecks nearly two feet so not totally suprising to hear of bigger than usual Storeria.

yea, ive always wondered about a huge redbelly snake like the size of an adult garter, that would be sweet although i guess for its size they are supposed to have somewhat toxic saliva, well according to a toxicology report from some university i found online somewhere, well if anyone ever sees redbellyzilla, just let me kno because i wanna see it
