where did it come from?
Many times when a person catches something like a garter or a dekay's that is special like that... they become stingy and want to keep it but still have no idea how to properly care for a garter... and they assume it can be kept and fed like a cornsnake, once every week or so... they never get it to eat, they don't feed it enough... it dies... etc. I certainly hope that specimen landed in good hands.
A leucistic dekay's found in NJ I heard was not as fortunate. Last I heard... the guy had it on gravel with half water... and the snake still had not eaten after a month and some change, it had babies and they all "died" (starved), but oh no... let's not give/sell it to someone more expierienced! Let's slowly kill that once in a lifetime find!
There's NOTHING wrong with wanting to keep and procreate your rare find... but if you are unable to do so.... well, you all get the idea.

I don't know who the owner is.I am pretty sure it was caught in the midwest somewhere a couple of years ago.It is a garter.

That cornsnake is AMAZING. But that garter is ten times more so. Definitely a leucistic... or possibly some form of pied.

is'nt pied a type of lucy also?I know all of the white sided snakes that are out are a type of lucy. Not sure about pied though.

Hmmm... is pied a type of leucy.. or is leucy a type of pied?:D I really think that is all heresay... they are all genetically mutated animals:)
Either way... you've got animals with unnatural amounts of white on them and mixed signals on the pigments (even pure white leucies have 'em!)

they call it a calico...I believe its a plains garter, it belongs to a college somewhere in the midwest...they wont breed it or part with it.....
