well i just HAD to share this messed up dream i had last night.
heres what happend.....
i was sleeping and the misses woke me up to tell me that the new female BP i got for her has regurgitated her meal of a small mouse and small rat, well they were still alive! and when i saw this i grabbed the rat and smacked it off the wall to try and stun it but the rat was still trying to escape my hand, so i kept smackign it off the wall and finally o tossed it down my stairs but it was still running away, so i grabbed the pillowcase and swung it around and hit it off the floor with all my mite and yet the rat was still living, so now i grabbed a 28q tub and started shaking the rat liek all hell inside the tub, at this point i woke up.
i woke up shaking and all sweaty. NEVER knew i was so violent in my sleep. lol

This is what i found on: An Online Guide To Dream Interpretation (http://www.dreammoods.com)
Rat
To see rats in your dream, signifies feelings of doubts, guilt and envy.
You are feeling unworthy Something that you are keeping to yourself is eating you up inside. Alternatively, it denotes repulsion, decay, dirtiness, and even death. The dream may also be a pun on someone who is a rat. Are you feeling betrayed?
To see a black rat, represents deceit and covert activities.
To see a white rat in your dream, denotes that in your time of distress, you will receive assistance from an unexpected source.
To dream that a rat is biting your feet, symbolizes the rat race that you are experiencing in your waking life.

It's interesting to read about dream interpretation, but it seems like pure conjecture to me. Rats, for example, aren't going to mean the same to everybody and some symbols have so many explanations that at least one explanation will fit.

I concur.
Let's just say a rat breeder dreams of a rat, it could signify many things including money.
I have found that falling asleep with a TV or radio on can greatly influence a dream as well, meaning nothing other than what the subconscious mind is interpreting of the background noise.

I definitely agree with stefan here :D
dream interpretation is null and void IMO. I dream of snakes all the time... ever see what dream interpreters say of snakes?! I am just dreaming about them cause I am around them so much!
I have a serious dreaming problem though. I live two separate lives. One is now, one is when I "sleep". I excessively dream to the point where everything's so real... so vivid, that I wake up more tired than when I fell asleep, and emotionally distressed... most of the time its something negative like I was peeing blood or late to social studies class (i was NEVER late to class and I always have that dream!) or escaping my old school before a bomb went off or my boyfriend was cheating on me!!!:( If I had money... I would be seeking serious pyschiatric help to stop the dreaming cause I cant take it anymore!!! In my dream world, while I dream I often recall events, buildings, places people and objects from PREVIOUS dreams even if those things do not exist at all in real life.
in the odd even that I do have a GOOD dream.. usually I wake up thinking about that wonderful new pink and green snake I caught or that awesome new piece of jewelry... and it has gotten to the point where I have REALLY looked for things I thought I had but don't! my dreams are interrupting my real world

and i hate those dreams that make ya more tired then when you went to sleep, i had waaayyy to many of those.

That sucks Tom... there are times where I dream like that, but thankfully not often.
Last night's dream was pretty crappy tho. Can't share all here, but I found one of my '08 babies severely injured and I totally freaked out. I was screaming about rushing to the vet and my husband was giving me "the look" and saying "Tami" when I realized there was nothing the vet would be able to do. So I decided on the freezer... couldn't find a container.... couldn't find substrate to put in the container... you get the idea... eventually I got him into the container and into the freezer, then woke up.... ugh...
I'm usually very calm under pressure, but always totally freak out in my dreams, running around like crazy, not effectively getting anything done... I often wonder if our dreams prepare us for life events. Like now, if something similar were to happen(heaven forbid!) I'd be better prepared and better able to handle it? I dunno?

okay this is a new snake a gift for someone elce , so you are nervus
about many things ,will it eat, will she like it will it die..
it could have been any kinda of animal, but your mind has foucsed on the snakes meal because it was most prevlent in your mind at the time.
but to see the rat alive means your affrade for the snake and will do anything to protect it from a rat that can and will bite the snake, this could kill it.
many snakes have been turned in to couring creatures after bitten by there meals. very common. your just worring ... calm down and remember its common.

Look what I found...:D
When I stopped keeping snakes for a few years, I would dream about them all the time........ I would dream I hadn't cleaned them for weeks, that they were starving or even dead in their vivs. I would look into tank after tank to see one or two skinny survivors, but mainly dessicated corpses. Weird, repetitive dreams, I had to get back into snake keeping to get a decent nights' sleep. So, for me the therapy is snake-keeping.

the other night i had a dream that a bunch of men came into my house and tried to kidnap/hold me and my cousin as hostages and we ended up being chased through the woods..... then i woke up......
many other nights i have dreams about walking in and finding meadow dead..... or finding 15 babies dead in a box.... those are the worst:(

I love those dreams. Except that in my dreams, the antagonists ends up being chased through the woods. If they even make it that far.

In many of my dreams, I am driving my schoolbus. I manuver around incredible obstacles and manage it without wrecking, then I do something simple and a car comes out of nowhere and hits me...
or... I park my bus to go on a field trip with the kids and when it is time to leave, I can't remember where I left the bus and can't find it...:o
All my co-workers report similar dreams.

I think the reflex action that makes one bounce on the bed when hitting the ground is fascinating.
Dorothy has a lot of messed up dreams and decked me pretty hard while sound asleep before. (She had an abusive husband for many years before I met her)

I have lots of crazy dreams. None I will mention here. LOL To pick one.
I ALWAYS have these crazy dreams where I am herping. I flip a big board and there are hundreds of snakes under it. All are snakes I want badly. I don't have any sort of bag with me so I am scrambling to pick them all up at once putting them under my arms, fingers. Like seeing how many pieces of wriggling string I can hold at a time.
The snakes start getting less interesting. So I look over to see what I already have. They are all gone.:confused: Every one of them. So I look around. Nothing. Panicked. I grab the not so great snakes. Shove them all under my arms. Look over. They are all gone too. At the end of the dream. All the amazing snakes are gone and I am left with worms..... :(:(
It has to mean something. It's such a repeat dream and I hate it.
Or in the same subject. I will be herping. There will be 5 or so AMAZING snakes under a board. I pick them all up and as I am ecstatically admiring them.... They slowly dry and shrivel up into a dried up worm......

I don't dream much, but recently I did dream that my then real-life pregnant mouse had babies, but she had about thirty and they were all born in the hopper stage. They were all either black or white and they were packed like sardines in the bottom of their cage. Can we say PANIC!!! :P lol
The only dream I can ever remember wondering if it was real or not is a reoccuring panic attack dream that I have whenever I'm feeling really stressed and inadequate. That was alot during my younger childhood and once right before I started college. It always has to do with computers, counting pennies, squiggly lines, picking flowers, and my mother building a bomb which is the direct result of something I've done. All of those things are often in the same dream. In the dream I'm either making huge mistakes with computer programming, or not counting the money right (or not making enough money) or drawing the lines wrong or not picking the flowers right... or anticipating the bomb explosion.
Okay, now I'm not making any sense. It's not really explainable. Anyways, I always wake up in tears and sweating and trying to figure out how to fix all the horrible world-destroying mistakes I've made (as though picking flowers wrong or programming a computer wrong is going to destroy everything). It usually takes me twenty minutes to surface after I've woken enough to realize it was only a dream.
HA! I just reread the above. I am really wacked, huh? :D

Have just come across the dream thread it was fascinating and very entertaining. Not very often you get to look inside peoples heads, i dont seem to dream a lot or perhaps i just dont remember them,
the only thing of interest relating to my dreams are the two prophetic ones i had, in which i dreamed the winners of two horse racers. They were some years apart but the last one was last years english grand national and i won six hundred pounds for a ten pound stake , it would have been a thousand pounds but i foolishly ticked the box to freeze/ protect the odds, which then increased to ioo to one i hesitated before sending this thread because i know it is some what hard to believe but i promise you it is true
