It's really a shame I didn't take this photo ;) I think it would have pretty good chances of winning.

That's why it won't show.

wow - I recognized the shot, went and looked, and yes . . .
it's on p.43 of "The Snake Scientist", by Sy Montgomery, a great book, mostly about the Narcisse snake dens
it's a must-have for garter enthusiasts

and the photos in the book are by Nic Bishop

Thanks rhea! I made a pilgrimage to the Narcisse Dens years ago. It's fascinating to read about, but much more riveting in real life.

Sorry I had to move your post, Brandon.... it's an excellent caption, but I'm afraid you have to use a picture from the photo competition to be eligible to enter the captions competition.

Anji must have had a crystal ball last year that predicted the future:eek:

Agreed!!
Jake, if there's ever a photo contest where the theme is group shots, you've got a couple of fabulous possibilities! Love these pics!!:)

Coincidental?? Or a year long conspiracy between Jake and Anji to make it seem that way.

drache
12-23-2008, 02:07 PM
that doesn't count
it's supposed to be a gang
I only see one head
it's the longest tetra I've ever seen though and you should definitely enter it for something

Stefan-A
12-23-2008, 02:15 PM
I see three heads. And I haven't even been drinking. :D

adamanteus
12-23-2008, 02:19 PM
Yes, I also see three heads....... I might have had a drink though.;)

drache

must be my eyesight - I'm still looking
I may have found one - under some leaves at the top right?

okay, I see it
but it's not that obvious, don't you agree?
it still looks like one really long snake

I think it's obvious that it's more than one snake, because it looks so long. :)

Does it really matter, though? When voting starts, you will have the chance to vote for a picture that represents your idea of a "garter gang" better.

drache
12-24-2008, 05:29 AM
no it doesn't matter
just that I kind of like it better as a really long snake

Wow, what a discussion about my tetrapicture :D

I think it's obvious that it's more than one snake, because it looks so long. :)
I think that's the smartest answer to it

I’ve heard of the event but never knew exactly where it is.
Thanks for the info Rhea. I’ll have to put this on my Adventure Trip schedule.
