We still have plans for improvements. This is just the beginning. He seems a lot calmer now that he is out of the ten gallon. He was so jumpy in the other tank. He even jumped right out once. Now he is relaxed.

Funny thing is I didn't even realize that he was in the plant when I took the picture of the tank :) I only noticed when I posted it.

We're modifying it some in the style of what Brandon did with his 65 gallon breeder tank. Putting a plexiglass divider ramp in to make one end of the tank a little pond. Not gonna do the live plant thing though. Every plant I touch dies so it's probably not a good idea for me. I'll make sure to post some pics when it's all said and done. Should be done Sunday or Monday.

So after cutting the plexi glass partitions, covering them in gravel, placing them in the terrarium, letting everything sit for a couple of days to let the sealant cure and set, we decided to go ahead and put the rest of it together. We put in the jungle mix substrate on the "land side", put in all Sku's climbing plants and branches, his log hide. We assembled a rock waterfall on the pond side with a small pump and some rocks we picked up on a hike through a park. Filled the pond side with water and put him in. He loved it. Went and investigated everything. Then disaster struck. I realized after about a half an hour that I must've not sealed the partiton well enough. It leaked. So I had to take the poor guy back out and put him back in his cramped ten gallon. Then I had to clean out the 20 which was full of mud by then. I tried going over the seams again with more sealant today after thoroughly cleaning and drying everything, but I won't know if it worked for a few more days. Next time I'm testing it with water before I put anything else in.

one of our members who did this, made a partitioned area that had a tub sitting in it that could be taken out and cleaned
it seems like a good idea, serving two good purposes, because if you have the water sitting behind the divider - even if it doesn't leak - the moment your baby poops in it you're stuck with having to syphon out the mess, whereas with a tub, you can just take the whole thing out, dump it, wash it, and so on . . .
good luck with it all
nice snake

I have always been a big fan of shallow poly boxes for that.

Cold cuts are sometimes packaged in a nice plastic tray, Chinese take out food, shallow Tupperware containers, all make fine ponds that are washable.

I am a "gummy bear" addict, so I get the ones in plastic bowls, that way I am buying a cheap bowl with free gummy bears, or gummy bears with a free bowl, either way it's a bargain.
