Kokopelli and Anasazi...

Well.. I did it. Succumbed to an ad from someone I don't know or has been recommended. So far things are going VERY well. All my e-mails have been answered in hours, if not minutes, and all my questions answered. I'm a kind'a needy new mother and I'm happy with the attention I've been given.

Tomorrow I will be getting Kocopelli (m) and Anasazi (f), two GREEN HOGGIES from NM. Hence the names.

Koko is a wee 08 baby green boy; Ana is a 06 green lady that should be ready to breed in 2010 - and so should Niizh and Koko! And all three are TOTALLY UNRELATED!!!!! I'll have THREE TOTALLY UNRELATED GREEN HOGGIES!!! Plus I'll have use of Niizh' mother - a yellow Hoggy.

Needless to say, I'm beside myself and so XCITED AND ABOUT TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But you know... When kids are presented - or you're teased with those sniglettes that are really special... What's a Muzzer to do? :)

But at least Dekay can affirm I've Peepers and Jeepers and will be getting Carmello - which a glitch has come up and he won't be coming tomorrow... But that should go elsewhere.

But... Sometimes I think people think I'm not for real. I really am - for real. But I truly have no camera. It was never important to me to have one until I came here.

You guys should know me enuff by now I don't keep too much to myself or close to my chest. It goes against my personality to NOT post pictures! So if I had a camera and that huge bulletin board o'pics there would be no way I could keep from putting up pics here!

I really am anxious to get a camera. Because even if all of you were way way rude (which not a SINGLE one of all of you are!) and said, "Ick. Ugly, dumb snakes," it would roll right off my back as being my snakes, of course they're the very bestest mostest PERFECT snakes in the WORLD! And I can't wait to say "See my baby!!!!!!!!!"

I've been asking friends if they could help out, but they all have camera phones. And borrowing their phone won't work. I could have Mom (not my mother; long story... And, actually, I'm almost old enuff to be HER mother.) come over but I'd have to clean the house, vacuum up the dust bunnies, get into decent clothes instead o'my sweats... Blah, blah, blah. Though, actually, Mom doesn't care. She's the best of friends.

Well. There's a tangent! I'm so good at doing that. Bad, mk. Bad!

Anasazi is stunning! Pretty dark olive green. So gorgous; so stunning.

Kokopelli is only about 5" long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Niizh looks like a monster Hoggy next to this very very wee tiny guy! I've no idea what to feed him... Prolly only pinkies in quarters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Koko doesn't look green to me at all. Kind of a light normal. So he must be green. I can only see Niizh green from time to time and Jodi is always saying, "You can't see the green on him????"

While Ana is still to small to breed - she's not the biggest girl in the world - she's HUGE to me after dealing with Baby Niizh! SHE IS HUGE! She's my first adult Hoggy! So now I've three different size sniglette Hoggies, two of which I can watch grow to adulthood. I can't tell how long Anasazi is because she's in a clam shell deli cup - like what 'burgers come in... LOL!!!

The heat pack had given up the ghost and they were pretty still and chilled - but well alive. I put them - still in their cups - directly into the tank, right on the substrate over the bottom heater. Then put the 125w normal white curly-que lamp above them. Once they warm up and get moving - Koko is already rambling all over the place, round and round! - I'll remove the normal light and put the 60w red heat light over them. Warm them gradually.

OH MYGODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm about to bawl my head off! These are the most darling darling snakes. I love them so much! I am so fortunate and blessed.

Sid, thank you. Yeah, things can get kind'a hairy when you're getting Pugets from Alaska to MN, and Hoggies from NM - where the nights are getting real cold - to MN where not only are the nights getting real cold but we had spitting snow most of the day yesterday. No accumulation, but snow all day. Still too warm (ground) for things to pile up.

But even in the heat o'summer or the fluctuating temps o'spring... One worries. I think ittiz just the nature o'us 'rents expecting kids. Until they get here we worry.

I'm glad, too, Sid, they made it safe and sound. They're warming up nicely and Ana is beating her head against her the top o'her deli cup now. Still, I'm leaving them.

DID YOU READ THAT YOU GUYS? LOL!!! I've not even come in contact yet with the two newest babies I want to kiss and hug! I'm erring on the side o'what's best for them! Old dogs can learn! :)

Anj, it never grows old or jaded. Each and every one o'these creatures with brains the size of my little finger nail are truly individuals. Peeps and Jeeps are like nite and day. The Blues Brothers are only alike in that they're brothers. Niizh is Niizh and Kenabec is a dufus bobo-head, neurotic basketcase.

Ana, I think, is going to be of strong hissy-pissy personality. As I type she continues to hit her schnoz up against the lid of her 'burger basket. I think Koko is going to be one o'those laid back, cruise through live, comse/comsa kind'a kids. I don't think nuttin's gonna bother him.

Yeah. I continue to get xcited and love them to death. They're not just snakes to me, they're individual creatures and each have something different to offer me to watch.

Jeepers hasn't moved in HOURS with just his head peeking out from a log hide while The Blues Brothers cruise the 29 gal sniffing up all the new scents.

They're not just snakes. They're individual, distinct creatures. And I love them all with my whole heart as I do The Cats and the Pigglettes.

Rhea, I don't want to breed garters. Too many at once and I've no outlet for them and don't want to deal with finding homes for them. Just too big a hassle to me and I don't want to go there.

But Hoggies, I've my breeder I can send any gravid Hoggies to for him to deal with. He knows all about humidity, incubation, strata, time, blah, blah, blah. So I get the fun part and he can deal with that that I've NO DESIRE to mess with.

I've Anasazi and he's got Niizh' mom, a yellow. He's got other females, too, I could use but I'm just a green freak.

All my fiends here, that have given me so much in fiendship, love, support, kindess and understanding - I've no need to make money off them. Jodi and I will split the litters 50/50. I'm sure I'll want to keep some to nibble and kiss and hug and snuggle and make little coats and slippers for, but those I don't I'll give to good homes.

I'm doing what I'm doing - going the way I am - because I love Hoggies. I'm not a Justin Mitcham (shudder; person from hell); I'm not even a Scott Felzer. Just a Hoggy lover.

And in many ways I owe all of you so much whether or not you know it. See above.

Otay. Cleaned The Blues Brothers tank and moved in Anasazi. WHAT A LOVER!!! She may have personality but DID NOT hiss, flare or bat a nonxistant eyelid! Mellow girl! Kissed, hugged, let her slither - I LOVE HER SO MUCH - and put her in the tank. And down she dug.

Gods I love her and am so happy.

Koko is still in his deli cup in with Ana. I know he doesn't have access to water but I want to keep him small.

Enkneebuddy else know the story about "Avoid large places, keep to small"? The Chinse boy and his cat drawings?

Well, I'll get his tank cleaned and then divide it some way. He's way too wee to be comfy in a 10 gal. A 2.5 is more betterer for him. I mean, we're talking a TINY SNAKE.

SHE FED BY HAND! Anasazi is used to being FED BY HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!! Wee widdow spec of a snake Koko, too!

She, the breeder, said Ana's used to being carted around in the store by the kids that came in - they'd carry her all over.

And I'll be danged if Ana didn't cuddle up in my hand, between my breasts - this time I was smart enuff to have a shirt between my pulchritude and HER... - and snuggle down. VERY VERY VERY mellow girl.

I've so died and gone to Hog Heaven.
