Let's make general comments about this month's photo and caption competitions here, to keep the competition threads free of general talk.:)

So, what do you guys think of my choice of topic for this month? Too boring? I thought it might be interesting to take a different approach this time... the picture doesn't even need to show a snake! Maybe some of you people will come up with some funny or clever shots.

It wasn't rubbish. :) Rubbish would have been to select something that has been done before. :)

Congratulations to the winners!
Dangnabit! I had the - what I thought was - great idea of Dekay doing a photo of two snakes and putting a "night cap" on one and a "kerchief" on the other for me to add the caption of...
Excuse me while I paraphase here as I can't remember the correct words without looking them up, but something along the lines of "Mother in her kerchief and I in my cap had just settled down for a long winter's nap."
Ratsafrattz!

Not for lack of desire to do so, I could prolly freehand something like that, but honestly when I cut and pasted the wide rim hat on spot last summer, it was just a natural fit.
I got lucky that time.
I tried to scramble together some elements, and it always looked dumb.
