nice lookin garters and bp, how old is the bp? i finally broke down and got me a bp at the hamburg show and so far i love him.

Awww your bp is cute... what is your bp's name? I got George back in Dec 2007. So he will be approaching 1 yr old in Dec. Aundrea, a member in this group.. bought him for me, for Christmas!! She calls him Mr. Goodyear Tire.
Last month, I weighed & measured him... 734 grams, 35 inches long - Oct 2008
220 grams, 25 inches long - Jan 2008

I want more, but He has so much character, I want to spend most of the time for him. I have other snakes, reptiles too!
Now if I didn't have a Hubby or kids, I would have alot more reptiles!!!

my bp is just named "Buddy" was born may this year so hes 5 months old, didnt get any mesurements or weights yet. i just got him last saturday so hes still getting used to me.

Buddy is a cute name!! Suits him! I only measure & weigh, cause I have to for my Iguana & Leo's. So I do the whole Zoo.. except for the fish!! ha ha

yeah kids do make it a little harder, i got a 10 month old daughter that i wish i could introduce to the snakes but they say reptiles arent good for young ones so im holding it off. that and the girlfriend likes to take some of my time, just not enough hours in one day for me anymore.

hehe thats funny, i ddo the same thing to dad when he is feeding and cleaning the cages, but normaly im in there helping but not today i have to be at school.:mad:

When I delivered the mice to the pet store, the owner asked me if I could leave some baby snakes to be sold on a consignment, and I told her I couldn't do that, she asked me why?

I said because I am fussy about who I will sell them to.

If I ever sold a pet to someone who mistreated the animal, I'd feel like I inflicted the suffering myself.

So when I see these snakes pampered and spoiled, I feel really good about it:D

I tell ppl, i enjoy taking care of all my many reptiles, & cats too! They say isn't it a pain to do. I said, NOPE I enjoy it. I looked at the snakies today,all 3 slept in the vines. Like kids with a new toy!!!

I another matching 10 gallon tank, on the bottom, for the other garters I am getting, just need to add a background. Now I have to get 2 homes, one for the milksnake & one for the roaches...:D

His siblings are coloring up similar, except 2 have somewhat of a bluish hue to the stripes, very bright yellows.

I am glad you are giving a shot at scientific names!! The Florida blue is an eastern, so he's thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis... and then the ribbon is not an eastern ribbon, he is actually a hybrid that someone gave to me at a show. He is a penninsula x western cross. I did mention that when I emailed you about him a long while back, but i am sure you just forgot in your excitement :P Since they are both male, there's no danger of them cross breeding. The ribbon even likes to eat worms! Just make sure you don't put him with any females ;) The blue however... maybe one day you can find him a girlfriend!!! :eek::o
