Oh, I know being there would be much better than just seeing pictures. But with 4 children (one of them heading to college this Fall) it will be quite a few years before I can even think about going. :( Have fun.

I´m ready to start the second day of the meeting, but it is still raining a little so visiting my pen won´t be what I ´ve hoped.

56 thamnophiles from 5 nations is a nice result.
But don´t forget that the success of the meeting is mainly based on all those "little helpers":
Daniel, who organized the equipment
Martin, who moderated the session so good that it was done in 1 hour and a quarter.
Eckard, who was election official
Tobis & Boris, who stirred the soup for a whole hour and brought our order to the pizza deliverer.
Julia & Nicole, who washed up all the jars on Sunday.
Steven, who gave an excellent discourse again.
Gijs & Sabine, who moved tables and seats.
Jürgen, who bought the coffee-cups that I´d forgotten.
THORsten, who made some of the signs and placed them all around the venue.
... and of course all the brownies, that I´ve not seen;)
But the hall was cleared up so well, that there was no complaint possible for the owner.
Did I thank all those breeders who offered thier snakes at the meeting?
All guests and new participants were very impressed by the assortment!

There was a little sign but do you think I would have had the sense to take a picture of it? It ended with "scotii" or something, but worry not... I spoke to Sabine about it on the day and it was one of Hans' snakes so I'm sure he'll be able to shed some light on it.

It's one of those subspecies that aren't necessarily recognized these days, either.

The photo really doesn't do them justice. Looking at them "in the flesh" it was immediately apparent they were something special.

The common name of T.e.scotti should be Magdalena Garter Snake, the specy was found near by the town Magdalena at the Lago Magdalena :D
