Help! A beautiful garter snake slipped into my art studio and I want to let it back out but I don't know how to live trap it or to even find where it is hiding.
I want to help it and release it. This is new to me. Please help me and this beautiful creature!

Good luck finding the little guy! If it's looking for a spot to hide over winter it may not come out for some time, but you can try leaving a warm lamp and/or a dish of water... maybe a dish of water with some feeder fish in it? Not sure you want to go that far? If you sprinkle flour around the water dish and around the edges of the room you may be able to see a trail through the flour where the snake has moved. Good luck!
