Thanks so much Shannon, It may sound silly, but since 10 gallon tanks are only $10, I'm going to set up a fake enclosure and display him just as if it were alive.
A memorial to Magma.
Never thought one little snake could effect as many as he did.
nice!!!
That guy look kind of real at first glance!

That was the nicest thing ever, Shannon. Dekay, you are so lucky. Not only to have a Forever Magma, but to have one of Shannon's creations and her as a friend. I'd kill for a snake like that.
Kinda makes me believe in the human race after all...

Hmm Shannon,
Maybe you have a new business opportunity here? After looking at the thread about all the REALLY fake looking fake rubber snakes, it makes one wonder if all the herp (not just garter) fanatics out there might go for something like this?

honestly... I am already in the process of getting my studio area set up for something to that extent... I recently stocked up on 11 boxes of polymer clay... and I need some more paints that closely resemble the colors most found on snakes!
my thing is... how much do I charge for things like this? I have no idea how to price it... because I am not greedy, I dont want to charge an arm and a leg, but at the same time, I need to charge reasonable amounts to compensate for the work, time and the detail I put into them... so once I figure that all out... you will see something more :D

Well, I guess the bottom line is how much do you want to make on an hourly basis? Do you want to make money or just break even? Assuming you were to sell every one that you make (maybe idealistic!) and you get into a rhythm, then (materials + time*hourly rate) = price. A more realistic value would account for loss, breakage, unsold items and maybe even the dreaded tax man:mad:.

the packing method I used to send wayne was actually highly simple... but it worked well as I can see. I took a plastic chinese takeout container and I taped him with scotch tape to the bottom of it. I put some aspen in for padding just in case... and I put the lid on. I packed that in the box with newspaper... I really can't see a fairly flat snake breaking easily at all that way :D
i am taking all those things into consideration though... I'm a pretty realistic person :p I just dont want to be like ZOMG THIS 4 INCH SCULPTURE IS ONLY $586739395
hahaha

Scary that I almost posted a very similar comment.
May I ask if your screen handle has anything to do with wolves?
Shannon, he still refuses food, any ideas?? should I brumate?:rolleyes:
In the event of a successful breeding, do you want half the litter?
Ok, I could get really bad, I'll stop while the mite spray dries.

Dekay,
Of course! I read 'Women Who Run with the Wolves' a few years ago and told a friend of mine that if he really cared abt me he would know what my 'real' name was and this was what he came up with:).
I am wiccan (yes, a real cauldron-stirring witch) and wolves are my totem and snakes are my medium. In fact, the license pl8s on my element is 'wiccan'.
And Frodo's full name is Stamford Frodangenes of the Schyre (frodangenes was the name of the gargoyle I had on my desk when I worked for a car dealership here in Omaha -- fro for frodo -- dan was part of the name of the dealer -- genes for diogenes b/c my gargoyle was looking for the last honest car dealer;)).
Update from my 1st day on this site: I mowed the backyard yesterday and found NO snakes anywhere -- so no news is good news????:)
