Well, it seems Jiffy has talents Rook never had. This morning I came around the corner and saw Jiffy clinging to the glass wall of his tank, slowly climbing upwards. Every so often, he'd slip down an inch or two, and then continue on his way up. By the time we got the camera out, he had slipped somewhat from his highest point. On further inspection, we realized I had just misted the plant, so there was a bit of moisture on the glass. Tank security has now been increased :)

As soon as I can get it on here for you, I have a nice picture of "Spot" climbing the glass.

Keep the glass dry, no problems:D

By the way, what kind of plant's are safe to place in their tank?

That's hilarious, Wayne!

We're still pretty much snake newbies, so these little surprises, seeing them do things I didn't know they could do, sure is fun :D

I actually had this happen not too long ago... I was feeding eastern babies, and when I feed garter babies, I do what I call speed feeding since I have so many. I offer them a food piece on the hemostat, I cut a food item so that it will fit in their belly all in one piece perfectly. when they bite it and get a real good grip, I quickly lift them up by the food they are hanging onto 9you can only do this with teeny weeny babies) and transfer them into a swallowing container. I have a second container nearby with some water in it for when they have finished swallowing so that they get washed off and do not interfere with the ones that are still eating. With this method I can LITERALLY get 50 baby garters fed in less than 10 minutes without one single dispute, and without having to separate them all. Well about 2 months ago, I looked down and saw one of them scooting across the floor... how did you get out???? impossible!!! I put him back in... next thing ya know... another one has made its way out of a small bucket that should be impossible for it to scale. I realized after the 4th or 5th snake by catching one in the act, that their fish strips were causing enough moisture on the plastic of the swallowing bucket for their bellies to act like suction cups and that they could climb the plastic when damp! Needless to say... I put a paper towel in the bucket now :D
