Just wanted to introduce myself. Hi! I'm Stephi from Central New Jersey. I haven't had any snakes in years, but am interested in getting another garter. I am glad to find this site. I'm not partial to the larger snakes, and didn't know the "little guys" had such a following!

I'm looking forward to reading more and learning more! I fed goldfish about 24 years ago to my snake, following the advice of the pet store. Poor little guy didn't last long. Thanks for all the info and articles!

If it weren't for this forum I would still be following the advice of my local Petsmart/Petco and would probably have lost my snakes by now! Lot's of smart, knowledgeable folks here...
