Here are some pics of my snakes AND I GOT A GARTER!!!!! Stephanie suprised me with a Red Sided Garter from Kyle. Hes sooo BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have not picked a name out yet. My 4 year old daughter wants to name him Swiper from Dora the Explorer LOL. THANK YOU STEPHANIE AND KYLE!!!! :D He is kinda skiddish but he dont hide much. Ill take some more pics of him. I have had him for a week now.

I took this pic last night. I was trying to feed Swiper since he still wont eat. Well I put in a nightcrawler it wasnt a very big one but i think a little too big for the Dekayis and too big for Max. I came back and MAX grabbed it!!! This is him finishing it off!! HES A PIG LOL. Bennie was just watching. She wasnt hungry.

Thanks Wayne and Tami. I LOVE my Dekayis. Bennie is a sweetheart. I was holding her last night. Shes my buddy. She will wrap around my fingers or wrist and hang out with me watching tv or talking on the phone LOL :D Max is a little skiddish when being held but hes getting better. He does come up to me in the tank and flickers away and looks. Hes cute :D

Yeah, we will always have a DK or 2 around.

I just put Sharon (The new mom) in with a smallish male garter.

His name is Rusty, so Rusty and Sharon have a 20 long with bark and coconut on the floor, a stick and a ceramic cottage.

I used one of the water bowls that is made for dogs, and has 2 openings along the bottom, so it doubles as a hide.

They are getting along great.

The babies are shooting up quick, amazing how fast they grow up.

awwwwwww that is great Wayne!! So the babies are getting bigger? Once they are ready I might have to get another one from you LOL :D:eek: I just LOVE Dekayi's

Please be careful with the worms, If you cut them with scissors they will not be as likely to crawl back out of the snake.

I have heard from some people who have had worms crawl back out of the snake and kill it.

Yikes i have never heard that before!! Ill make sure to keep my eye on them. I usually do watch them eat to make sure they ate it and it went down smoothly :D

Really?? wow, that is weird.. I cut my nightcrawlers up!!!



Please be careful with the worms, If you cut them with scissors they will not be as likely to crawl back out of the snake.

I love your snakes they are sooo cute!! See what you did, got me hooked!!! Can't ever just have one!!! My 3 reptiles turned into 5, now 9!!!

LOL! I passed it to for sure! Seems like I am never not cleaning cages... And now with the rats... :D But it is certainly fun!

Its funny how everyone oooooo's and ahhhhhh's over the pets and wants to feed them and such but when its time to clean out their homes everyone runs :eek: I am the only one here that feeds, cleans out their homes, gives attention to them and baby talk to them LOL Yeah im weird but I do baby talk to my pets. Hell even I have to let the dog out AND give her her food and water and gives her attention. Ohh well I dont mind doing it all. :rolleyes::D

I think I passed that threshold a looong time ago... but honestly..... I still don't see it as work... no matter what I am doing... feeding, cleaning..etc.. is is STILL fun to me... honest to god, I LOVE cleaning the snake cages!!! I have a blast!

I don't think you're weird, Shannon.

I've not near reached the threshold - XCELLENT point, Dekay - but I, too just LOVE futzing around with the tanks and the kids! It's not work, it's fun and I'm interacting with all the boys. I, too, have a blast! I talk to the kids, fiddle with them, coo ask how things are going, comment on their poopies I'd missed and not gotten with a paper towel, blah, blah, blah.

So, I wonder... Is there a threshold for me? Prolly, but it will most likely be way out there. WAY BEFORE Shannon's, but yet way out there from where I currently am.

I dont mind cleaning their tanks out at all. I think we dont mind and its fun because we love our pets so much so it dont matter to us and we want whats best for them :D

I coo and baby talk to all my pets. Hell even the Praying Mantis LOL. Stephanie is the same way also LOL. When we are on the phone we are always talking to our pets or feeding them :rolleyes:

I guess I am a weirdo too!! I enjoy cleaning my reptiles cages too!! I clean & talk to my pets.. like as if they know what I am saying! Like in about 5 min, I have to clean up my ball pythons cage, he shedded & then decided to go "POO", he must have been holding that one in a LONG TIME!!! LOL :eek:

We are a bunch of COOL/AWESOME weirdos!!

Yeah, my bp drops some bombs too.

Its ok to talk to snakes as if they understand you, its whether or not you actually think they understand that decides just how wierd you are. :)
And if they talk back to you, well then...

The snakes are the only thing in this house that don't talk back and I'm so very grateful!!! :D
