Ok, so I was out just kinda snake hunting didn't think I would find anything...I foudn the biggest garter I have ever seen...she's at least 24''+ and I'm pretty shure she's gravid...caz she is huge. I think she is an eastern also....and trust me she puts herbert to shame...he is just a baby compared to her...wheph....I had another one, but she slipped under my shoe into the weeds and I coudln't find her.


Just letting everyone know....of my catch of the day..ahaha

A lot of members around here will warn you about taking gravid females; IE, interrupting the eco system etc. Good find though. If you plan on keeping the babies, I'd let maybe 2/3 of them go and keep the rest, or let them all go and keep the gal. Depends on what you're aiming for. :P

thats not that big of a garter if she is only 2' long lots of females get up to 3' at least especially easterns

but i agree with kyle and i would actually let her go i had a bad experience with keeping a gravid female :(

lol mine was 28" when found.... now she's 31":D:p

but i do believe that letting her go was the best thing to do......:)
