Male or female? Please advise

Hi everyone :) I was reading a post from a while ago where you all helped someone determine the gender of his garter snakes. I'm thinking mine is female, but not sure. The only reason I'm thinking that is because of the way (her?) tail tapers more abruptly than a smoother taper...is that the way a female's tail tapers? I'm not even pretending to know, but I have read something like that from multiple sources. Anyway, I can't tell from the vent because I haven't had a good enough look at it or gotten a good enough picture yet. Don't mean to be disgusting or crude, but could it also be that since he's eaten so many worms in the last week that he hasn't had a healthy enough crap yet and he's backed up? and that's why there's not a smoother taper? He has crapped a few times since he's eaten, but I don't know enough about them to know how much is enough. I do think it's a good sign, though.

Can you all please help? I've included some pics, although I don't know if they're good enough for identification. If not then please let me know what to get a good close picture of. Thanks!! :D

Ah...ok Thanks Stefan, I've heard that one before, but a broom?? I thought it was funny...and Udo, I didn't mean anything by it. I just had never heard of eating a broom. Hahaha...it still makes me laugh. You've come up with a good one :)

judging by what you can see of the rest of the body in the pics i say she might not be gravid i think she just had a big meal and is getting ready to poop soon
i see it all the time with george she likes to eat a lot of food
