So I was checking on the outdoor pen, giving them a little mist of water when I noticed a squiggle.
After a few minutes of searching I pulled out +/- 10 baby snakes!
The mother was the red sided I purchased a few months ago; she looked kinda puffy, and the guy who sold her to me obviously hadn't had her for a long time (probably a WC seeing as she was gravid.)
So now I have what I believe to be pure red sided babies. I'll be getting pics up soon to be sure that everyone agrees; there have been no boys in the pen for 2 months, and even when they were there it was for 3 minutes until I noticed some of the easterns making attempts at the ribbon. lol

End of your day will be early morning for me.
I hope I can learn something for my project.
The pit is still floated. It´s raining again and again.

They have their mom's pattern. Do they look 100% parietalis to you guys?

Very nice, Kyle. I couldn't say if they were 100% parietalis or not... it's such a variable sub-species, and I'm no expert.... maybe Sjoerd, Udo or Stefan?

Not a clue, never saw a parietalis neonate.

The more I compare them to mum, the more I'm convinced they're pure.
Neat patterns on some of them, I'll get closeups soon. :P

it might be, the middle one looks like half ribbon, doubt it is though

Just checked the pen again; I missed a couple.
I rounded up two more and missed one; I'd say there's maybe 3 or 4 left for me to find. :)

You are questioning whether they are pure... Do you keep different species together regularly? Was there a different male in with the mom ever??

2. I don't know. The guy I got her from probably got her from the wild. x.x

Well, I can never tell with 100% certainty. But they do look like parietalis. The flanks look a bit colored, that will turn red in 1 or 2 sheds.
Parietalis are actually quite ugly little snakes when they're born...Almost no color, very fragile but wonderfull personalities!
congrats on the babies!

Indeed, I have 0.2 young pure parietalis with not a bit of red on them!
