alright
I said I would in some thread
so here's our living room

we moved in about a year ago, as some of you may remember
and this is what it looked like then

the work has been going in spurts, whenever there's been some extra time and energy, and there's certainly more to be done, but . . .

That looks like an often used, well loved, family room! I love it. I love the legos, the skateboard, the gorgeous child happily playing, and of course the snakes :) Beautiful!

I love it too Rhea. :-) What size is that huge tank on top in the last pic? And who lives there? :-)

Okay. I'm stalking Drache and then moving me, Pickles, Mayo The Cats, and The Boys to NY. Yes.

How comfy and cosy! I LOVE the fireplace - does it work?

I'm on my way. Make room for us! :D

Drache just moved into that big tank
he's over five feet long and the tank is 6'x2'x25"
he was living in a 4' long tank before and couldn't really totally stretch out
it was a female dog getting that thing up there
I built the shelving from previously used lumber and it's rock solid
I'm thinking of giving the cats a way to get up on top - Drache doesn't mind them and it'd be the highest they could get in that room

the fireplace is totally fake - I'm fairly certain that there's pipes running up behind that wall - heat, water, electric . . .

These look so much familar.
The frames at your tanks seem to be typicall for Amerikan enclosures and half of them are to open on the top.
I like most that Mikhaila seems to be totally uninterested in your action although we know her as an activ member of this forum too.

I have no animals in my living room, they are all in a seperate reptile room. I probably never will fill my living room with critters, I don't really like it..... but, to each his own.:)

I have everything I own, minus my car, in my living/bedroom.

Well maybe I am strange, but my livingroom is pictured below.

The room with the couch and TV is where I go when it is too nasty to be in my living room:D

it's kind of interesting, isn't it?
where I come from, this is absolutely not the acceptable kind of living room
and truly - it wasn't 100% easy for me to post these photos
but for a reptile room it's pretty nice
I can change a few water bowls while I'm hanging out with the family
Drache's cage needs a ton of tarting up, but at least he can stretch out now

Rhea, I really do love it. I'm a firm believer that you should enjoy your home and feel comfortable to do anything you want to in it, especially your living room since that's where so much family time is spent. It should be a place to relax, enjoy each other and the pets. Thankfully even my extended family have always enjoyed fairly relaxed living rooms. We're all so busy with the outside world that it's nice to have a place where the things you enjoy are gathered and out where you can enjoy them.

Drache, I can only echo Tami. I was sorry to read you were hesitant to post those pics...

We, here, are not NY. We're us and I would like to think with all the time you've spent here you'd understand *we* would much rather see a snake room in the living room than some hoity-toity "Nu Yak" living room.

*I* think your living room is GREAT! It's what we used to call here in the midwest, when the fams were downsizing and homes didn't have specifice "living rooms,"great rooms." An all purpose room where the family gathered to snuggle and do the fam-thing. Looks like you can do so much in your living room! Many things, depending on what you're feeling!

And ain't that what life's about?

GREAT LIVING ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

well . . .
it's more my German proper middle class background
this is Brooklyn, and while it's true that there's been a lot of influx from the burbs (and Manhattan) this is still a pretty good place to be weird
