and remeber that checkered that was supposed to have her babies 2 weeks ago. well I found what remained of the birth but i did not see any babies. I was puzzled for a while as to where the babies went. Today i was cleaning out some of the adult garters and saw a baby snake on the floor. I quickly grabbed it up to find that it was a little chekered baby. I was very excited to find one the babies and also quickly learned how they escaped. I held it up to one of the holes in the tub that the mother was in and he slipped right through it. so I guess it was a lesson hard learned. I'm definitly drilling smaller holes in my expectant mother tubs. here is a pic of the little guy.

The babies are adorable! :)
Too bad about the tiny escapees, though. Hopefully you'll discover a few elsewhere!

OMG. I totally had the same epiphany a couple days ago. I was holding my slightly larger then baby checkered and noticed the holes in one of my gravid wandering females cage. I held Chess up to the hole and she slipped right through. I was pretty quick to fix that problem in ALL the females cages. lol!
