I just received an email from Sonja at roxifund that "Mr. Greenie" has sadly passed away.

Even though I never got to hold him at least in the end he passed in the care of a loving individual who tried her hardest to save him.

He was given a proper burial under a nice tree.

R.I.P "Mr. Greenie"

Somehow I feel a mixture of loss and anger. Loss for the poor animal that should have been left in the rain forest, and ANGER toward the creeps who did this to him in the first place.

Geographically the rescue is within a short distance from where I purchased Limon, Making me wonder if there is a connection.

Maryland is almost surrounded by Virginia, and the reptile dealer is in north Virginia. We bought 2 animals from him, not knowing any better.

I contacted him once to tell him how well the animals were doing, and he acted as if I was bothering him.

That seems odd, but as time goes on rather expected from many.

Whenever I place animals, I always check up on them, always..

No amount of money could ever tempt me to bring innocent animals into the country to suffer grueling deaths.

I know how you feel Wayne... I found a snake that I had caught and released dead the other day... Obviously from a mower... I was heartbroken, even though I didn't "know" her personally. My condolences.

Oooh too sad. :-( I'm so sorry Wayne. Like you said, tho, at least he died in the hands of someone who cared for him instead of all alone and still neglected... for what little that helps.

Yeah, man. I gotta smile, giggle, and laugh! You go, boyfriend! You're right. It is the only way. Give to those we have and love. None of us can save all those we want. But we can make sure those in our care are compensated for whatever they went through prior to us loving them to distraction. Doesn't correct all the wrongs, but re-inforces that within us that tries to better a bad situation/world. Mollifies. Soothes. Gives us something to focus on while we mourn.

Wow. Gertie, you said that so well. May I quote you to a friend of mine going thru a bad spell right now after loosing a rescue horse that she fought very hard to save? I've been trying to word an email to her and it wouldn't come out of my brain right. Your words say exactly what I was trying to tell her.

Lori, dear, of course you may. And if this helps, use it, too. When something or someone dies - they never truly die as they continue to live in our hearts, souls and minds. They're just no longer 'physically' with us but still very much alive to those that loved and cherished them. As long as there is one person to remember a loved one, that loved one will live on.

I truly believe that in my heart. It's kept me sane after more losses than I care to remember.
