There is a lot of talk about Humidity but how do you increase or decrease it.
Does puting a live plant into viv and watering the plant do the humiditity.

my tank gets humid just from the water in the dish evaporating

you can mist it with a spray bottle if needed but the easiest way is to just add a larger water dish!:D:D

You can place the water bowl closer to the heat source. Increase the size of the water bowl. Reduce the ventilation (not a good idea unless you have really good ventilation), or spray/mist the viv.

What about plants in the viv. Do they help in any way. I used to keep house plants and the snakes climbed through them and hid in them.

House plants help a lot. I have one snake that NEEDS humidity, so heavy planting & regular misting keep it damp.
Keeping a plant or two, and keeping them well watered will bump up humidity nicely without misting.

I place the waterbowl very close to the lamp and never had problems with humidity for the garters. I don't do anything else.

I just checked my nifty, spify therm-o-meter and humandidty sensor. I'm at 49% with no condensation, etc. It's definitely reading the humidity in the tank as it's not 49% out here.
