Don't forget then, Justin.... loads more photos before you let her go.
We need to add her to the photo library too. Will you do that, or should I?

Darn. Wish s/he wasn't protected. But you're WONDERFUL for doing the correct thing.

I was - if you'd kept that precious baby - going to suggest the name, "Spot."

thanks guys, but really there was never a choice to make it was deff. let it go as soon as I knew what it was.......:) on a sad note though, the other pics I took of it as I was letting it go some how got erased off my camera, and I had some nice shots of it in the grass to, so as you can imagine I was pretty mad for lack of a better term... all I know is my wife had it last to show some pics to someone....:(

Great news Garter Fans...lol!!!
I have found an adult Brachystoma in the back yard, prolly about 14 to 15 inches long, and would appear to be gravid, so I took more pics, however their is a little trouble I guess you can say I rescued her actually their wear few kids that found her but I'm pretty sure she's gonna be alright, one nic on her side but not very bad, Lets hope she doesn't find them kids again, and I warned them about coming on my property again also........... anyway here they come so don't reply til I'm done, their are 4 pics.......:)

Did you say she's gravid? Maybe keep her around in something outside until she gives birth and then let them all go? Maybe that will keep her safe and give her and the kids an edge on surviving... From the boys/kids.

Thats what I thought it was with the first one found the baby, and then we figured it was brachystoma, which I am in prime area for both brachy, and butleri.......but I do think they look very simlar to Kyle!!!!:)

Try extremely similar. Brachystoma looks like a 10x lighter butler's with an even smaller head, if that's even possible. XD

Please, can you help me identify this species?
I can't say where is this photo taken, it's all I got... I don't even know the continent. But I would appreciate any help. :o

Nice snake- I'd say if she made it that far where she is, she hopefully will be ok there on her own. Just let the kids know that that type is illegal to catch.

That much we can be sure of, unless they were caught near 3 mile island:eek:
