Hey, New Here

Hello all! I'm new here and have recently bought a Checkered Garter Snake, I think its a girl but not sure I'll get some pics of her later when I can and maybe someone can help me tell lol. :D

Anywho I have a question. Yesterday I fed the snake a minnow and she ate it with no problem. Also I have some minnows swimming around in her water bowl, but after I fed her... last night she ate the 3 minnows i had in her water bowl :(.... so she had 4 fish in one day... is this a good or not? :confused:

Hey Randy, welcome to the forum. 4 fish shouldn't be a problem at all. Depending on the size of the snake, it might not even be enough! Feel free to ask all the questions you want. :)

Ok I hope your right Elliot lol. But she's only a baby maybe 10"-11" haha but maybe she was just really hungry cause petco may not have been feeding her :(

4 fish for a 10-11" snake is fine. I would probably feed her 4 fish every three days for now. You may also want to try trout fillets, as they are thiaminase free.

You guys, now I'm worried. Winnie had two fishes yesterday and two worms today. Two worms is all I could find! She won't eat until next weekend when I'm there - I don't think. Jo may feed her but I told her "NO MORE EIGHT WORMS AT ONCE!" SHEESH!

Am I under feeding Winnie???????????????????? She has porked up since last summer/this past winter/this past spring... But...

AM I TAKING GOOD CARE O'HER????????????

Good lol cuz I actually have a question, right now she's not big enough for this but this is for future reference, but when my snake is big enough (i havent thought of a name yet so any ideas on that would be great too lol) and i start feeding her pinkies and rats and yada yada should i feed her more than one at a time?
