I was poking around the rocks by the river today and found this little guy.

He's only about 8-10" long and has a much different pattern than the last one. I also found an eastern milksnake in the same area. I'll post a pic once I get the bad tempered S.O.B. to calm down and quit biting me long enough to pose for one. :eek:

thats a harmless brown snake, storeria species. cute little fellas, eat worms and slugs

Here's the milk, seems to be mellowing out a little...now that he/she has some of my skin and blood as a souvenir.

I found this under a rock by the river today, another one got away, but this one wanted to stay and fight. :rolleyes:

Nice Dekay's you've found. I kept one for a while, and they're really nice snakes.
The milk snake looks good too!

GartersRock...lol, thanks for making me smile. I think I'll keep her though, she loves being held and is a sweetheart.;)

Way cool!! Where in the us do you live? There are milk snakes by the mississippi here in MN but I don't find them too often. Congrats on your new family members!!!

So you think it's gravid, too. I thought so too when I saw how wide it was at the vent.
