I found this little guy/girl trying to escape the high water this morning. It is 2.5-3ft long and pretty thick. It bit the crap out of me at first and musked me a few times, but seems to be calming down...a little. The eyes are cloudy so I assume a shed is forthcoming. I am a new member and just wanted to show my new buddy.

Welcome, Bio. I've no idea - I'm new to all this. But that sure is a fat snake compared to Winnie, the garter at the park I work at. REALLY fat.

I'm going to go out on a limb just to test my increasing knowledge, just to see if I'm right or wrong by what others post. I think it's a gravid female. Getting ready to shed and then birth.

We'll see if I've learned anything.

Again, welcome! :D This is a great place.

I think gravid is possible. I would suspect a small litter, OR a later in the season due date.

Congrats on your find! She has nice contrast.;)

Hello, and welcome. :)
She's a nice looking snake! Hard to tell from that picture if she's expecting, but here's hoping!;)
