So....
today was an interesting day at work. The phone rang and shortly after that I heard "Shannon phone call line 1 please".
I was like oh boy someone needs help with a reptile!!!
They sure did!! A lady called, horrified, to find that upon getting her case of dog food cans home that there was an "evil mean scary looking snake 'guarding' the dog food cans".
I said okay, remain calm and don't touch him, just tell me what he looks like. "Well he is brown with a yellow stripe and black spots with a brown head and 'evil' red eyes". I asked her if she could see the eye pupils, were they round? Yes? okay great. Were there black markings on his lips?! oh yes? Ah ma'am you have an eastern garter snake in your dog food. I said go ahead and bring the case of dog food in and I will remove him for you.
So she brought the case in and sure enough there was a young sirtalis wedged down inside this case of food, head flattened, striking, that whole silly little act they play. i pulled him out, gave he lady back her food, and I sent him on his way out into the woods by the pond behind our store!
I am just glad that she did not kill him
How on earth did a garter snake get in there, and why did he choose to remain there of all places! ha!
