My Big eastern 2008

Went out to the pool this am and guess what? There was my Big Eastern that I kept for a couple of months last year. It was so cool to see her again, am really glad she made it and looked just fine (getting ready to shed), full of little baby snakes. Took her in and put her in the viv. and dug some worms, she chowed them down. Out for some photos and then back to her home under the pool walk. She really is a cool snake.

I think she is about 30 inches (75 cm) rough estimate.

This is getting interesting. I think I found two more from last year!:D

This is a black and orange beauty from last fall, she appears to be a gravid female. Shows a couple new battle scars, but looks very healthy. Found her in exactly the same place as last year.

This little guy lives under the same plywood sheet as last year, little bigger and looks healthy. I think it is the same one but am not absolutely sure. One of my Maritimes.

I wish I would get lucky enough as everyone else seems to be, in finding PRETTY Easterns. Both of mine are drab dull, green striped individuals in appearance. At least JC has a colorful personality and some good stories to tell!

What size is considered average for a female garter adult (for that matter, what is average length for a yearling? )....I'll have to see if I can coax her Royal Highness aka JC to let me try to measure her.
