Insane!!!!!!!!!

So today was the most INSANE!!!!!! school day i have ever had so it was really nice out, a little cloudy...... but all of a sudden my classmates and i hear a huge crack of thunder..... instantly it starts to downpour....... right into ALL of our windows...... :eek: we are on the third story BTW........ so people start to get annoyed bc they are getting wet..... then the wind picks up......... first twigs start to fly stright into the class...... then branches...... then HUGE pieces of hail..... the size of ice cubes....... start to fly in and hit people in the faces!!!!!!:eek: then the wind creates a sort of suction affect and all of the 3rd story dors slam one right after annother..... then my teacher announces to move to the front of the room while she goes back through the hail, sticks, and rain to shut all 6 f the windows, top and bottom!!!!!!:eek: so all the windows are shut and the storm continues to worsen when we hear a loud explosion.... the power goes out,...... and a car swerves, all within a few seconds...... (so we find out later that the power serge caused the ventilation system to blow up and a tree fell which the car narrowly avoided) then the fire allarm goes off........ so everyone thinks it's a joke..... then people start to smell smoke...... so we all run outside.... all 800 of us...... so we are all outside running around in circles screaming, very confused.... branches are flying it's hailing and raining in buckets.... and keep in mind that it was 100 F yesterday..... so then the teachers realize that it's safer inside and start to blow their wistles.... so we all start to go in when they decide that the school has no electrical grounds so they start to walk us to the buss garage when they change their minds AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!:eek: they push all into the autitorium and the B-gym.... and this is all in the dark...... so we sit there for 20 min and finally our prin. comes and tells us that the fire department has cleared the building for safety and to return to class......:confused: so NO one knows what just happened in the last hour and we go back...... i heard thet they would have taken us home but they thaught it was safer in the school..... YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!:mad: so most of our teachers have to use power to do their lessons, and we have none so we basically do nothing for the next 4 hrs of the day.......

but in the end it was all really stupid on everyone's part.

lol sounded like fun , i wouldnt have minded a bit of excitement like that when i was at school :)

school is still going for you? what state are you in, that is some pretty extreme weather, sounds like texas, or somewhere near there. We had a couple of serious bomb threats when I was in high school that turned into day long sit outs where we got evacuated and they had to bring in lunch for everyone on buses full of paper bag lunches, then me and some friends snuck out the back of one of the buses and ran to a friend's house and played football for a few hours before going back to be there for the final attendance checks. I went to a big school (2300 students) so it was easy to be missed. my graduating class was a little over 700...

Wow, sounds like quite a commotion!!
We've had some wicked storms blow in here the last couple days too, what with the high heat and humidity. This is prime tornado season!! Lucky you didn't get one of those while the whole school was out running amok!!:eek:

Ok..... my school is starting to get really stupid..... so today we had a huge protest for seven reasons and it made the NEWS!!!!!!! but i only know 5 of the seven reasons......

1. they were firing a teacher because the state had messed up her teaching degree and didn't fix it until the middle of the year.... so they said she was lying or something and she got mad...

2. juniors are no longer allowed to drive to school!!!!!!!:eek: STUPIDEST THING EVER!!!! :eek:

3. no more early dismissal or late arrival... what would you do if you had 3 study halls at the end of the day???? what about in the morning???

4. locking the doors.... we cannot get out of the school!!!!!! what happens if there's a fire????? your trapped unless there is someone right there to help you.......

5. the right for the school to search your car..... next year they are making a rule that they can search any car just out of curiosity... CONSTITUTION!!!!!! do we have NO rights?????

That sounds like a crazy day!! I had a similar thing happen to me..sort of. I was in Albert Lea(Minnesota) at Myers Big Island state park(about 2 hours from my house, excellent place to see snakes..pretty much a huge marsh.) It was like 150 degrees outside (ok..so I am exaggerating a little) and the girls and I were dying of heat..since I drove two hours to get there I didn't feel like leaving just yet but I was afraid my girls were going to get overheated..then an idea came to me..there is a lake in the park not too far from where we were so I decided we could all jump in it with our clothes on..that will cool us off!!! So the girls and I splashed around in the lake (the girls got a huge kick out of being in the lake with our clothes on). We then proceed again on the trail thru the marsh...about ten minutes later storm clouds roll in and it starts to sprinkle(just my luck!!..lol) I ask the girls if they want to keep going or go home since it is just sprinkling and they said go on (go figure..they're kids..they love playing in mud and rain!!..lol) So we kept going..about a half an hour later (and a mile down the trail) the temp drops like 20 degree's and it starts to downpour!!! Now we are all shivering and trying to get back to the car as fast as we can..just when I was thinking things could not get ANY worse the tornado alarms go off!! I was still a mile from my car and in a huge marsh!!! So I take the girls to the bottom of a wet marshy field and we sit there in the pouring rain..the girls were starting to get scared so I told them we were playing a fun game called tornado...if they here a loud noise lie face down in the grass and mommy is going to lay ontop of you..they thought that was funny (it must be nice to be kids..I was FREAKING OUT inside). So I am trying to get ahold of anyone I can on my cell phone hoping the rain won't break it..about 20 minutes later I finally get ahold of my Mom..I had her check all the local news stations for a weather update..she told me there was no warnings on tv....ok so why am I sitting in a huge marsh in pouring rain with my two little girls?...ugggghhh!! LOL! We proceeded back to the car right away!!! Luckily I had a change of clothes in the car for both the girls(I always do when we go herping..they have a talent for getting all full of mud!!) but I was out of luck!! You should have seen the looks I got when I filled my tank on the way home!!!:-)

As for you I totally know how you feel. When I was a sophmore in high school I was really looking forward to the open campus rules the juniors and seniors enjoyed. Then the hateful school board changed it to closed campus..right before I was a junior!!! Damn them!! So we were not allowed to leave early if we had study halls or leave for lunch!! So I feel ya!! That was a long time ago for me though..I graduated in 98..this just brings me back:-)

hmmmm....being in the law enforcement field.....searching your car because they want to would be considered illegal...4th amendment protects against illegal search and seizures.....I would fight that. not that you would have anything to hide...it's just not right for them to...we deal with that all the time here.

I used to be in favour of the "anything in the name of security" idea, but since 2003, I've started becoming more of a fan of minimal control.
