I am still learning, however here are some of my first attempts with my new Nikon D80. Hopefully they will get better as time goes by.

Very nice pictures! You will have a lot of fun with the nikon D80! Excellent camera...especialy with the right lenses (...sssshhhh....sigma 105mm of tamron 90mm...sshhhhh)

I see you used F6,3 for your pictures. That with a shutterspeed of 1/125 explains why the photos are a bit dark (although I wouldn't say to dark...)
What lense are you using? (Nikkor 70-300? )

I purchased a Sigma 28-300AF & am using a nikon sb400 speedlight for the flash. I was on the phone for over an hour with the sales person & he advised me for what I was going to use the camera for, that this would be good.

Thanks, Jerry
