Thanks for everyone's suggestions regarding the feeding of Northwesterns. I have not witnessed any consumption of earthworms or slugs;the slugs tried to make it out the screen, so I opted to skip that meal type for now; and the worms, well, they are still in there somewhere (probably loosening the substrate) - I mist ("fog") the cage daily. And sooooo..... I put some tadpoles in SalmonBear's bowl. He has gobbled up a larval treefrog (Pseudacris regilla) and a larval red-leg (Rana aurora). This diet will last till the tadpoles turn, and then I'll try frog-scented pinkies.
Also pictured is my blue Coast Garter (not sexed yet) on its 2nd pinkie. What a piggy!
