Tilapia

What is Tilapia. Is it a speices of fish. Can you get it in the UK. I have given mine Trout and Salmon. They like both.

Yes, tilapia is a fish. We can get it in the supermarkets in the UK (I was looking at it today) but it's twice the price of trout! For that reason alone I haven't tried it yet, but some of the guys here swear by it. All my Garters love trout, so I'll try tilapia when I find it 'reduced'.;)

One of those few species of fish that can successfully be farmed in developing countries, especially in Africa.

i can never find trout...... but tailapia is cheeply and redialy available here!!!!!:D

my snakes have ate haddock before but I seen that it was high in that "T" word....lol:D never tried the talapia before though............

I've been feeding my snake strictly thawed frozen pinkies. He seems to be happy, but I'd love to vary the diet. I have tilapia in my freezer right now! Looks like we're eating fish tonight. What other tasty treats would you recommend?
