The sillyness starts here ... We decided to throw our garters in the bathtub today ... with interesting result ... Our scattiest snake, Clint (florida blue), is an absolute waterbaby and loves every second spent in water ... J (plains), who seems to have the lowest I.Q. , spazzed out and shot around the bathtub at speeds to make superman jealous ... and ... Slithers (red-sided), who is usually a calm, collected and rather intelligent snake, hated every moment of it - stayed on the hut we'd placed in the water for the majority of the time and .... even gave me his first lovebite ROFL .... anyway .... here are the pics.

Hehe ... well there's his passion for climbling the glass and falling over, his ambition to live behind the background in the viv and his unwillingness to accept that food doesn't have to 'fly' to be edible, of course

Other than that he's your averagely fantastic garter ;) but he does have his 'special' moments lol :D

awww so cute, does everyone have swim day with their garters?
im thinking about building a custom made viv for these guys since they like swimming so much, sorta half land half water type enclosure.

that was fun too
I'll have to try that some time
I have this big tub I put in the tub when I give Henner (the beardie) his bath
it's almost as big as the bathtub itself and it's just his, so I don't have to worry about soap residue in his bath - or conversely, residual dragon poop in mine
I'm sure, Henner won't mind lending it to some snakes now and then

Brett, I LOVED that video!!
I've been wanting to try to make one, but I have a feeling I'd seriously muck it up if I did.
How do you set the video to music like that? Do you just play the music while recording or add it later?
I haven't given the snakes a bath day in a long while, other than Chili, who got one a couple days after we found her. I'll have to do it again soon!

Well, I tried last week to get some pics for this month's photo contest but my guys were NOT having it... LOL!!! So here was their swim day-- I propped a flat rock up on two smaller rocks in the tub--

Oh my god!! She's trying to kill us!!!
http://www.thamnophis.com/thamphotos/data//500/medium/bath_time_2.jpg

Mordecai is the big Puget... Reed is the big ribbon... Miriam is the little Puget, getting ready to shed... and Curious is the little red spot.{Reed, Curious is staying so little!!}

Don't anyone move-- and don't touch the wet stuff, it's poison!!
http://www.thamnophis.com/thamphotos/data//500/medium/bath_time_4.jpg

Reed finally got brave, swam under the rock and poked up on the other side--

http://www.thamnophis.com/thamphotos/data//500/medium/bath_time_5_with_notes.JPG

LOL, silly snakes!! Maybe if I give them a chance to swim once a week it won't be so traumatic for them...

I'd be afraid I'd drop the camera into the water
Lori I have a male who is staying really small compared to his age mates
he's an '06 parietalis and my '07 radix is close to catching up with him
Reed is so handsome - and really long
