I swear my little" Rook is on some kinda super grow drugs lol, at 9 months he is still a baby and STILL growing like a weed..and by a "like a weed" I mean he jumped 2 inches in 1 shed lol. yup Rook is now 18" long :eek:

I had to buy him a bigger water dish...he was able to wrap himself a full 2 times around the old one lol made swimming kinda tricky!

we are questioning it, he likes to change, he looks like a girl for a few months, then he looks like a boy for a few months, currently he is looking more girly then he did before lol. I have been trying to get vent pics for some time, but his belly is so creamy coloured and shiney that all I end up with is a complete washout, I would turn off the flash if my camera was not entirly usless without it lol, I will keep trying though, maybe one of these days I will luck out lol

If you have a scanner you could try scanning his belly.

Now, my next question. The albinos are somewhat see-through, and holding Rook up to the light, it looks like there's "something" that goes back for a short distance from the vent into the tail. What would this be?

Great pic, thanks so much. Rook must be female. I think we can once again say that we know the gender for sure (and not do that again!). I did think Rook was quite thick, but the 3/4" long shadow behind the vent had me fooled. The only explanation for that I could think of was hemipenes. Maybe if I can find some snake anatomy diagrams I can figure it out. This has been an interesting learning experience :)

I guess we can expect a lot more growth in future :D

The nose to me on the girls look like the bullet train but the boys look like a TGV :D

Now I'm confused again, LOL. I'm getting quite a variety of different looking trains with google.

The tail apears to be very long and you can see some 'darkness' in its tail, just after the cloaca...

yes the darkeness is why we were saying boy, but the tail was so skinny that we were thinking girl..which is why we are so confused lol

Yes, also true... Well, I'm feeling a bit less stupid, since it does seem to be hard to tell. Our camera only seems to work outdoors in bright sunshine for vent pics, so will have to wait for the appropriate conditions to try for a better shot.

At least we don't have to keep changing Rook's name every time we determine a new gender!
