Chili's photo thread!

Let's kick off a photo thread for my newest arrival, Chili!!

Last week,Chili had her first shed since I caught her. She's all bright and shiny now, and I got some pics to show her colours. Her dorsal stripe is a beautiful blue-green colour. I love it!

You know, Reed.......when I put her in the feeding bin the other night, I thought she was looking a bit lumpy and pudgy down toward the back. I'm not sure yet, it's pretty early on if she is. How long before it really shows???

Anji, she's gorgeous. I love her coloring!! She has small eyes, or it may just be the pics. But she really is pretty!

Well, I don't think she's a whole lot bigger than when I first caught her, but if it turns out she's expecting, I hope she goes before I leave on vacation August 3rd. My mom is 'snake-sitting' for me, but I'm pretty sure even my mom, as cool as she is, will freak if she wakes up to a tankful of babies!!:eek::D

You know what, Lori? It's because she has a really long head!!!!:p:p
It's twice as long from neck to nose as Deejay's. I find it kind of funny myself!
But, I do think she's very pretty too!;)

I got a couple new garters myself(that makes 8 thamnophis species/subspecies), but am waiting to get some nice pics before I introduce them to ya'all. And Lori, I got a new baby king too.

Very nice snake. We have a bunch of that variation by me. 2 weeks ago I found one with a light blue stripe on top, it was a very pretty snake.

I don't really know yet whether she's gravid, and today when I looked at her all stretched out, she looked pretty normal to me. I think I'll just give it a few weeks when it will be obvious (or not!)
I really don't know what I'd do if she is. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sell native species here, and they'd probably just have to be released back into my little snake-finding area. Of course, I'd keep a couple of my favourites........;)
But it would be so cool to see babies being born. The kids would be thrilled!

@ Reed: I measured her last shed at 31", so she's not quite as big as she looks in the pictures! But she's got about 3 inches on Deejay!
