Well, since i take so many pictures.. and not all of them fit into the same categories, and I don't want to flood the forum with like 5 new threads... welcome to my photo thread! I am going to try and use this thread as an all purpose photo poster! So keep checking back!

So first up! remember that little litter of corn-rats? well, my FAVORITE one of the 6 escaped about 3 months ago. So pretty with lovely red spots and bright orange eyes, I was so upset. Let this be a message to those of you missing snakes... He turned up in my mom's dishwasher yesterday! The little fella had made the rubber hinge under the door his home and must have been slipping inside and sipping water when no one was around... here he is back in a tub, sucking down 4 pinkies! Hes a little thin but none the worse for wear:

family dinner!! for some reason, none of their colors came through in this picture... they all have different colors in person!

Next up! I had a birthday recently... on friday. well my boyfriend was very upset that my present's delivery got pushed back until today. He brought it to me at work this morning! This is a Ross-Simons snake ring, he is made of 14k white gold, onyx, tiger's eye, and 60 little diamonds!!! I have the best boyfriend ever I think :D

Also: my co-worker got me a TIGER SALAMANDER nymph!! He is about 9 inches long, still has his baby gills, I can't wait until he turns into a REAL salamander :)

Great Photos. The picture of the little Garter looking straight at the camera is Brilliant. You should make that one into a poster or frame it. I want to put that on my wall. The other Garters look good. Are they Corns in the first shots. Amazing all eating at exactly the same time. Nice Ring and amphibian too.

nope, the king rat has not made a stink for me, ever! He has pooed but it just smells like... poo! He won't musk!!! I had him outside today and was even chasing him full speed through the grass... on purpose... but he still won't get defensive! He is a HIGHLY alert snake though... i love how smart and visual he is!

The carinata is also a very pretty snake.

The Kingsnake is awsome and a very good name for him. The other two hybrids are nice as well. Not too sure about hybrids but a snake is a snake and its not its fault for what it is and if you can give them love and care so what.

my female is at times feisty in that she wiggles around a lot when being handled, but she has never, ever struck no matter how provoked. For teh most part, she is very calm. My male on the other hand, is a nasty, evil, horrid, mean vile little wretch of a carpet python and he tries with all 2.5 feet of himself to kill me on a daily basis!

i love him to bits and pieces... the way he whacks his face off the glass in yet another attempt to eat my face... the way his eyes gaze into mine right before i see a big blue mouthful of teeth flying towards me at record speeds... they way he tries to squeeze and chew all life out of my arm as i pick him up to clean his cage, the elegant way that he sprays me with his fecal matter... I love that snake <33

seriously i think the guy who sold me him, drugged him that day. He was the sweetest most mellow little snake!!! Got him home, and I realized that he was actually a personalized letter to me directly from satan! I have never seen a snake that actually SPEEDS out from under his hidebox to the top of the cage if i don't open it quietly enough, JUST for another go at me!!

haha, i was looking at the jungle carpet hatchlings at my local pet store(there were like 10 in a cage) and he was telling me how they line up on the side and strike him so he opended it and it was so cute, ten little baby pythons were lined up striking very clusmily

Hey Shannon, a few questions for you:

I assume this is what a good shed should look like for a python? Also prior to sheding what humidity do you keep your enclosure.

My female _always_ hides under the water dish (I think she is getting ready for a shed). This is on the cool side of the enclosure. The other hide is on the warm side. So my question is this based on your experience. Would a snake rather be cold and well hidden, hot and well hidden, or perfect temp and not hidden that well ? Also how long is the "blue phase"

Thats all for now, TIA

I don't really do anything different for her during shed... she lays in the water bowl during her entire shed period and will not have it any other way! Mine is also on the cool side, on the other side i have branches, a big hide and two ceramic heaters over top.... the male is alays always up there in the branches under the heat... she only is half the time, I really think that they all ahve their own personal preferences and as long as I know she has a CHOICE to get warm, and still doesn't want to be warm, that's her decision! The blue phase desnt last for very long, I would say between 2 and 4 days depending on the snake?? Im not 100% sure though I have enver counted the days....
