I've decided to give each of my snakes their own thread for photos, so I can update as I take new ones. I'm attempting to be organized! (I'm also stealing Stefan's idea, since he's done this type of thing with his snakes........:D)
We'll start with little Stitch, the Dekay's snake!

Head shot!!

Dekay's are so cute. They look so innocent but utterly destroy worms. XD

Funny, I was just considering the possibility of asking some local higher power if they could merge my two threads, so I wouldn't have to keep track of both and start yet another one for the parietalis female and whatever I might get in the future. :)

Stitch is looking good. :) I'd love to have a dekayi, but I doubt I could feed it the entire year.

I meant because I can only collect food for about 4-5 months of the year. The rest of the time it's too cold to find slugs or worms.

I actually managed to get that picture after his soak and squish session the other day!! Even when sick he's still photogenic...........he's such a good snake!

That could be hard for you, but it's amazing how easy it is to keep a slug colony going all winter. They breed like demon spawn!!
I've had slugs in the basement since October, and they're still going strong.

Have you tried leopard slugs Stefan? They grow huge and crank out eggs, which garters can also eat, not to mention they live long and are easy to keep...

Nope. There aren't many of them over here. :)

Kyle, do you have leopard slugs too??!Yep. They're invasives from... Europe I believe. But the snakes seem to vary in their preference of slugs by the day. x.x

slugs are good for other things too
I'm not sure I've posted this here before

Hate housework? Can't find a reliable cleaner? Try a slug. (http://www.anapsid.org/slugcleaner.html)

I'm still trying to get Jeff to warm to the idea
