Mikhaila, her friend Gavin, and I went to the Expo in White Plains today
I knew you'd want pics and I did take some, but they're not very good
the lighting was an abysmal mishmash and there was of course not enough of it, so with the flash added - you get the idea
but here are the reasonably okay ones

there was a guy with a lot of different kinds of uromastix

he had these fantastic red ones

a cool chameleon

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2141/2429927134_02589bb2d9_b.jpg

very large bugs

this private breeder, whom I hope to meet again some day when I can afford a quality female, had the most stunning dragons and the photo does not do them any justice at all
and he didn't even have a business card

the only garters I saw were some wild caught concinnus

Mikhaila, however got to spend her birthday money and came home with

better pics to follow of Olive the crested gecko and his pad
since he just got here I didn't want to bother him too much
and Mikhaila will want to post about him

all in all a good long and exhausting day
we got a 66"x18"x13" tank for our uros, so I ended up moving some stuff around (that tank, two other tanks, the couch, some sheetrock debris)
and there's like 150 new post to read, but not tonight . . .

the expo was really fun! we both got cool shirts and,
drache taught me how to make food for Olive.

sometime this week, we are going to make a collage background for his tank.
I have half of it done, but we'll show you it when its complete.

What are you feeding Olive? Also, the background sound neat, can't wait to see pictures.

I'm trying to convince my husband that we NEED a crested gecko. If he has to watch me cry over the Twister drama much more, he may just give in..........:D

darn-it
today, Sean told me that the table that had the concinnus also had a couple of amazing blue ribbons
I'd only asked about garters and it was so crowded that it was hard to look at everything
perhaps a good thing

Olive will be living primarily on the Repashy Crested Gecko MRP
it's something Mikhaila can totally handle on her own
I took some more photos today, but it was dark and he doesn't turn out well with flash
here's what I got though

Good to hear he'll be eating the Repashy diet. I was going to highly recommend using the diet. It is so easy to use and it is a complete diet.

Olive is a handsome fellow, I think Mikhaila will have fun owning him.

we had one before and we really liked him
he died not long ago of sudden kidney failure
we'd adopted him from the rescue and he'd had a malnourished childhood with mbd, so his back was crooked and he couldn't climb and his tail was gone too
he was a very sweet guy and he could still jump pretty well
it's pretty cool though to have one that can actually walk up the side of his tank
I do know we have to be more careful when we take this one out
our friend's crested once dashed up to the ceiling and once they're up there they can maneuver much better than a human on a ladder
