Show us pictures of your nicest / weirdest radix!
Upper one het albino, with erythristic mother, bottom one, just a nice find!
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/reptile-paradise/Kousebanden/DSCF6700Small.jpg

Also got very nice grey ones, but it seems I cant find the picture just now...They are bred by Gijs en Sabine...Maybe James can fill this gap?

I'm afraid none of my pictures do justice to the beautiful, subtle shades of my T. radix. My camera won't focus sharply in anything but the brightest sunshine, and the true colours are often lost. As soon as we have some decent sunshine, I will take a few more photos, which will hopefully be much better.
Have I ever mentioned that my camera's rubbish?

Me too. I've never known radix to bite.

drache
04-13-2008, 04:29 AM
not sure that she'd bite and hang on, but the coiling and striking bit can be impressive
she's also the snake most likely to go for finger, if there's no other food coming
and she's not even a year old
but I wouldn't call her mean - just Spunky (her name)
no sun in the forecast
I'll try for some flash pics then - see whether she'll show her stuff

As some of you know, I kinda like T.radix. They were the first snake I ever saw and probably will be the last. I would like to share some of my photos and hope some of you could post a few of yours. Radix, the "root" of my addiction.

Just came across these in my files. Can't say this is one of mine. Just one that lives around my house. She wasn't very happy when I found her again. This was late last fall. Looks like she could use a little TLC.
I have a number of regulars. They come around looking for handouts. Had one come to me while I was on the mower. Had to do a quick shutdown. Fed him and off he went. I hate it when they do that. Not really.
Some live under my deck. When I spot them, they get a free meal.

Thanks for your compliment but I don't see it. To me, the photo's before mine are so much better. It's probably like when you hear your own voice. It never sounds good(at least in my case)

Yes, they are. I must live in radix heaven. They're everywhere. It's only going to get worse. I plan on making 3 shelter areas around my house for their protection. Complete with hides and fresh water. To this point they've just had natural shelter and look how many I have. Going to try setting up my video camera to catch some of the action. Only problem, one camcorder only tapes for an hour and my high def. tapes only 15 minutes. Bummer!

You might be on to something, Greg. I can just see it. 3 am, getting online and watching my show. Complete with commercials for your snakes. Like.

Sirtalis(Cialis), for when the mood is right. WARNING: If you should have a stiff snake that last over 4 hours seek immediate Vet. help!

So much to do. So little time and money.

She was in the hide looking out. This small male came right to her ands started smelling her. I only had time for one shot. Here it is. Write your own captions.

really nice photos, Steve - love that third one especially

That's one of my young males. He has always been a little standoffish. I'm noticing that in many of my male radixes. The females are much more trusting. Even during feeding the males will, as a rule will wait a few minutes before they start to eat. Not sure why there's a different with them. This observation is with my Juv. and adults. In my babies, I see no difference.

Thought I would post a few pictures of our Monster radix(Speckle) She's a big girl at 226 grams. Very docile and a pleasure to have. She again is one from around my house. She's been with us for 2 years. We are hopping for babies this year. Beautiful color and attitude. She's like holding a small bull snake.
Not a scar or blemish on her. To get this big and not have some kind of injury, scar or other visual issue is amazing to me. With all the dogs, cats, birds, people, lawnmowers, weed trimmers, cars and other dangers, she must be a smart one. Hope you enjoy.:)
