Snake lover 3-25

So... ever since I moved to my new house a few years back I've been fascinated by reptiles... I caught many smaller ones and kept them for a few days at a time, then I caught my first brown Dekay's snake. I kept it for a year or so until it got lose in my house never to be found... I bought some corn snakes and I loved them... I put them into hibernation and unfortunately they never came out and began to eat again... I was advised never to buy snakes again and that since there were so many around that were free for the catching... I caught many others but they either didn't interest me or they wouldn't eat anything that was available year round. One day, on a walk with a bunch of my family members, my aunt screams I ask what's wrong and she says "snake". I look down and see a very large snake compared to normal ones that I usually find. I pick it up and it bites HARD she latched on and didn't let go. Meanwhile my relatives were screaming... after about ten minutes of trying to coax her off I just winced and ripped her off quick... like a band aid... she never bit me again let me tell you that. So I brought her home and I was mad at her so I left her in a cage for a few days. I tried to feed her a mouse and to my surprise she ate it! I had never been able to get a wild snake to eat a frozen/thawed mouse. So I kept her and eventually I was brave enough to hold her, I became very comfortable with her and she with me... about a month and 10 days after I caught her I came home and there were 18 tiny babies in the cage with her! I had suspected that she was pregnant because I had never seen a snake so fat! I kept the babies for about a week or so and after many of them wouldn't eat I reluctantly released them all except the few that took food, I released them over the next few weeks and finally I was left with one fat baby girl and the mother. The unexpected pregnancy was so fun that I hope to catch a male, hibernate them together and breed them both next year! And that brings me to today... the fat baby girl named Willow and the mom named Meadow live together and are very content, Willow will turn two July 17! I am so overly attached to them and they are so at ease in my house... I will quite often put them in my huge doll house and leave them to roam... they will usually stay there and relax going from floor to floor of the three floor doll house. They love to sit in their hammock and warm up under their lamp. I will send pics of the doll house, the snakes and their hammock as soon as I figure out how...
