Welcome to the forum and nice photos. I believe Spot is and Eastern Garter Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis. You'll meet some great people here and always ready to help if you have questions.

Welcome aboard. :)
I think I have to agree with Sid, T. s. sirtalis, but there's something about it that makes me want to say T. radix, as well.

Howdy and welcome to the forum. Spot's a good looking snake and yeh, I agree.....T.s.sirtalis. Though I can understand what Stephan was saying too. I kind of thought T.radix at first as well....but looks like the side stripe is on the 2nd and 3rd scale rows....not 100% sure though, pics are a bit blurry.

Hello, and welcome!! Spot is very nice, and I'm going with Eastern for type -- he looks a lot like the garters I see around here.:)

Hi Nicholas, and welcome to the forum.:)
Yeah, Spot does look a lot like a radix.... but she isn't, she's an Eastern.

well thanks for all the posts! thanks for the comments too. so what should i do about the feeding? she hasent eaten for four months except once like a month ago and that was like 3 fish. she wont eat anything i try to give her and i cant get worms because it is winter here. she wont eat pinkies either.

you know how big he is going to get? he is already like 15-20 inches somewhere around there.

If it's a "he", he won't get much bigger than 20". Possibly a bit over 25. If it's a "she", she might get twice as long.

well i believe he is a she also because i was told their tail from the butt hole to the end of the tail is longer then its a female if its shorter than its a male. spot's is pretty long so im thinking its a she. so i might have to change the name. i had like ten garters last year and two of them were pregnant and i gave them away. they were fatties. they ate like three worms a day! Ill be getting more garters soon when the weather warms up a bit.
