What you can actually do Josh, is just take a really good pic from a distance and then get on your PC and zoom in on it. The example that I put up is of a snake that was like 2ft. away. It's just that I took it at maximum size (8 megapixel) and then when I put the pic on the PC, I had it go on at actual size...which was pretty big. I just then used an image program to select a section and then saved that to a different file. You can even use the normal old Microsoft Paint program to do it. Just make sure you get a good section of the snake in really good focus, so that when you zoom in, it's still a crisp image.

Me too. Just make sure that you have the best lighting and focus that you can get. Good luck.

From what distance can you still get sharp photos?

My camera can officially do about 2", but I've taken a lot of pictures at less than that. My entry this month was taken from a distance of about 2'. Didn't even have to zoom.

Indeed. It also raises the question how much editing can be done in the caption contest. :)

I think it would be better if it said: "follow the yellow scale row"....:D

Good one, Justin. But I think it might have been lost on those that aren't familiar with The Wizard Of Oz. ;)

Then again, last time I won, I used a translated quote from Das Boot, that I can pretty much guarantee that nobody actually recognized. :D

Great caption, Stefan.:D You're right, it's surprising no one picked up on that before. I guess it's only obvious once it's been pointed out!;)

I had been sitting on that idea the whole month. :) Wasn't sure I should use it, but I couldn't let Greg run unopposed. ;)
