I could imagine most of you are like me... "No, this is it, this is my last snake. No, really, I just can't get any more. Definately not. Apart from, well, maybe just this one. Oh, yeah, and that one. But that's it then. No more!!!" :D
Anyway, I think I will be deliriously happy if I could add a little melanistic garter and a Thamnophis cyrtopsis ocellatus- Eastern black necked garter snake.
What's on your list for this year?

I have both of those already, Esther.:p
This year I have ordered 1.1 sirtalis 'Flames' and 1.2 'high red' parietalis. I might be tempted by others, depending how the tank construction goes.
I definitely need a male sirtalis Florida Blue, and maybe more female radix, if I can find exceptionally well coloured ones.:)

Possibly marcianus and radix. I don't really mind this year, with all my snakes being young. It's next year I have high hopes for!;)

Well... *blushing*... it's not exactly a garter... but I really, really want a western hognose. I keep thinking of that little guy at the expo who tried to burrow into my hand and I keep wishing I'd gotten him.
BUT THEN THAT'S IT!! REALLY!!
Unless I can find a purple garter... :D
What I would really love to add to my collection is T. scaliger, Mesa Central Blotched, but not exspecting that to be possible:
T. atratus zaxanthus, Diablo Range
T. atratus atratus, Santa Cruz
And NO thats not all. It is however, what I hope to get this year:D

I'd like a fistful of parietalis babies. ;)
Maybe a vagrans male and a terrestris couple. Believe it or not, but I'm pretty satisfied with what I've got.

I actually found that site, and I asked him when he would have more, and he told me to check back around August. Maybe I can buy one then.
Thanks for posting his website for me though! :D

LOL...I was just thinking of starting a post on this!:D I pretty much want to eventually end up with three pairs of garters and a small colony of Maritimes (T.s.pallidulus), so......
For me..2008
1.0 "High red" T.s.concinnus
3 more T.s.pallidulus (not sure what sex, don't knwo what I have already).... 1 high red, 1 high green (should actually have these two "on order" for the spring) and then maybe something "else" like a melanistic, hypomelanistic or "blue"
And on pair of something REALLY cool
T.e.terrestris
Erythristic T.radix
Saskatchewan T.radix
Melanistic T.e.vagrans
T.c.ocellatus
T.a.zaxanthus
"White sided" T.s.fitchi
T.scaliger
....this will give me a nice collection of 11 garters, enough to keep me happy.:)

Yep that's it......Fon's has a great pic of one on his garter site. I've never seen any like that before or since. It's a really stunning looking snake in my opinion.

Since I don't have much room, my real list is very short and I have ordered them, so if everything goes well I'll have them this year:cool::
2.2 Thamnophis eques cuitzeoensis
Additionally I have a maybe wish list, but that's a big maybe:
-An additional, unrelated couple Th. hammondii
-2.2 Th. Melanogaster canescens

well my list is for every Garter I think is kool, which is virtually all of them,
so it comes down to money and time.......when will I have the money and
when am I gonna get them...............:D
adamanteus
01-27-2008, 03:20 PM
Actually Justin, I'm with you on that. If I had the money, the space and the time, my wish would be to have the 'full set'.... every Garter species and sub-species... but as that isn't likely to happen for me this week, I'll content myself with the few new additions I already have on order.
As a group though, I bet we could attain that goal.....

Hi,
I like to buy some male animals. Because my males dye rather quick allways. I need an african gecko ( the are difficult to get, even if it should be snake feeding), because my last dyed with rachitis, and I like to buy a anolis carolinensis because my last had broken his leg in an accidant.
Then I like to buy a femal thamnophis sirtalis parietalis, but my mother refuse it. Next thing I buy is an aqurium for my fishes, because mine is too small.
