View Full Version : Thamnophis picture poster project

Dear members,
because a friend of mine has an office for printing layout I´m planing to produce a poster DIN A2 or A1
about as many Thamnophis species and morphs as possible.
Because there are still some I can´t photograph on my own I need some assistance.
Every picture will be named with the kind of snake and the photographer.
Every photographer will get at lest one copy of the poster.
This is the kind of Photo I do prefer,
http://www.zooplan.net/images/fb0707k.jpg
but feel free to send me your favorite pics of your snakes.
Send me "jpg" or any other picture files as big as you´ve taken, without any manipulation.

That sounds fantastic, Udo.
I don't think I have any photos that would be good enough but I will work at it. :D

The pictures I have usually need a bit of manipulation, but I'll see what I can find.

Pictures don´t need to be perfect at all.
All needed manipulation will be done.
Two attributes are important, the photos should be near to "pin sharp" and colors should be catched as natural.
Send me the pictures as big as taken, so we can choose the right cutting for the entire layout.

Udo, just though that with the new members this thread should "pop" back up again. This is a T. s sirtalis female I lucked up on at an expo here in South Carolina. I'll e-mail a couple of different photos of her to you.

I have to finish this project now.
There´s one picture left in the layout that will be changed, but the file is sended yet.
After the fair in Hamm and after I´ve sold enough of these posters I hope to start the next project.
Today I´ve created a separate email- account for poster orders
poster@zooplan.net
They will be 5,00€ each plus shipping.
If you order enough I will be able to give quantity discounts.
And I´m still looking for the best way to distribute them in the US because shipping each apart would be very expensive.

At $7.40 or whatever, I'd take a couple.

Garter_Gertie

Udo, so then with the rounded Euro price, you're making something for your time? Then the conversion is okay. If not, increase the Euro price and do the exchange rate then.
It just wouldn't be fair if all you got was the cost of the production of the posters. They're stunning! You've put a lot of time and energy in the making of it/them.

let's just use this thread for orders
before ordering from Udo, I'll post a list and people can contact me with changes
we'll figure out the exact price once we know the shipping fees
once I know whether it ships rolled or folded, I can probably assess the postage within the US
Lori P
08-27-2008, 05:23 AM
If we can ship them rolled, that would be best, but not sure how much more expensive that would be for Udo.... here, we can get tubes for Priority Mail (the tubes themselves are free). I'll check the postage on a priority tube, I *think* it's the same as regular priority which is $4.80. I'll check at work today, we have a postage meter there. :-)

Hhhuuummmm... Pet stores... I'll have to think about that one.

Looks great! I would really love to create one based on just the garters found in the NW U.S. too. And create another one of just the various ordinoides from my area (I know one has already been done on ordinoides but I want to create one too) Lord knows ordinoides need their own poster! Or how about another that only has sirtalis ssp. in it? that would be WAY cool too.
Any word (image) of the final official poster? And a quote on how much(in US dollars) cost for me to have one delivered to SW Washington State, USA? I can pay by credit card. I don't have paypal or any other electronic means of paying but maybe we can work something out.
I have an entire room now, and a bunch of empty tanks waiting to be filled with garters. It's only appropriate that I have some garter posters on the wall!
drache
12-22-2009, 05:25 AM
yes and yes, and I am the US distributor
I am pretty sure that the last image of the poster on this thread is the final version
there is also a picture of it at albinogartersnake.com in the "available" section
the poster costs $15 shipped, $8 for additional posters in the same shipment
there is also a bunch that has an area of slight dampness waving, not obvious at all, and those are discounted to $12 shipped, $5 for additionals
I am also pretty sure you can pay by credit card through paypal without having to sign up, as long as I send you an invoice, requesting funds. Or you could send me a check. pm me and we'll work out the details
