It will take a few years untill they start breeding, James. They are born in 2007. But I will keep it in mind...
By the way, the young of this subspecies are all differently colored. I am curious how they look when they get older.

The all black ones are Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis. I did not catch them, but bought them from a Dutch breeder. I do not know where the parents or grandparents were caught originally.

i can tell ur new so ill explain it beter that is just a morph of a eastern garter snake like an albino but its all black, most abnormal morphs are rare in the wild and come from breeders

I tend to not agree with you, Reed.
The black form of T. sirtalis sirtalis is in my opinion not a morph, but a normal form that occurs in some regions.
In my eyes a morph is something that is created by man.

To me, morph is the same as form. :)
Whether it's a commonly occurring form in nature, or one produced through selective breeding, it's still a morph in my opinion.

Indeed. Well, I could disagree with this, because most albino gartersnakes (morphs, in my opinion) are also found in the wild. But usually these are single animals. They just are 'used' by man to create more. The black sirtalis forms an entire population and is therefore (my opinion again...) natural and not a morph
@ Stefan: Defenitly agree on that! Morph can be a bit of a 'hard' word. Many people think negative things when you mention 'morphs'....
