hi,im jas from e/port,uk,i have 1 adult female garter called greedy,1 young male garter called tango and 1 corn snake called merlin who i rescued from a couple who were to scared to feed him, not quite sure how this works but every1 starts some where,i have loved snakes for about 3 yrs now and my ambision is to have in time a python,i started with garters at the advise of our local pet store owner,and ive been hooked ever since,what a gr8 snake for the newbie,greedy my female has been mated twice now and they go down well at the pet store,tango my young male was from her secound litter and i kept him cos of his bright orange colouring,which hasnt dulled with age,will keep u posted,,,,

Hi Jason, and welcome to the forum.:) It's always nice to see another member from the North West.
Garters are often chosen as a 'starter' snake, though I think this is probably because they are cheap, rather than their ease of maintenance. Other groups of snakes, Rat Snakes for example are probably easier. I'm sure you will soon see that many of our members are far from new to the hobby, but Garters are still their snake of choice.
Once you've posted a few times you'll be able to add photos to your posts, then we'll all be looking forward to pictures of your snakes!:D Incidentally, you haven't mentioned which species/sub-species you're keeping.... can you tell us?
