why does my snake have odd white scales in front of his lips and some in the eye???? Is it beginning to shed??? or is it a blister??

Here is a snake beginning to prep for shed. Her eyecaps will turn white. A few days later, they will clear again, then she will begin to shed.

By the way, the dust all over her is from the wood shavings she loves to burrow in...

I have to agree with Rick, we should have pictures to conclude anything.

Kit could be correct. Certainly if the eyecaps turn normal again after a couple of days :)

As previously stated, it's hard to advise without seeing pictures of the white scales.... especially as we still don't know what genus of snake you have there, Regan. Try to post a photo for us.:)
