Here they are...tomorrow will be thefeeding day, they're a little bit skinny :o
Two of the babies (with orange stripes) are turning red, why??...the middle stripe appears that it's gonna be orange too :p the other two with orange stripes are totally black, aswell the last two with yellow stripes

Very nice ones. :) They look nothing like the more common Thamnophis species.

Beautiful babies, Robert. Stefan is right, T. melanogaster looks more like a typical Nerodia than a typical Thamnophis.

They are very nice :) I agree with Sid, but then again we live a bit too far away :D But Mexico has some very unique garterspecies :rolleyes:

Glad to see the little ones are doing well. Know you had some feeding issues with them. They're gorgeous little snakes.

Hey Robert,
I heard from Steven Bol, a breeder in the Netherlands who has done some fieldstudies in Mexico that the juveniles of T. melanogaster canescens all differ in color when they are born.
This has to do with the fact that predators cannot get used to a particular color as prey. Maybe this is also so for T. m. melanogaster.
Maybe I want to loan a few of the pics from you for on my site again... :confused:
